Yeah, sent them a message. Followed a video to transform it. IMHO better than the instruction book as they called out a specific things to be careful with.

Check it out.... Unicron has a hidden ab compartment that Haslab didn't tell us about!

... just kidding. This thing took forever to surgically remove. I'm sending it over to Ben at Collector Crafts to get a clear red replica made for it, so we can LED up this next part. At the same time, I do have a plan to change 8 abs to 6. Stay tuned!

That is gonna be sick. I have zero faith in my ability to cut anything with that precision.

Pretty sure I saw a photo of someone here doing that so it would fit in a case.

When I get mine I'll definitely see what that guy was talking about and post pictures if nobody else has yet. FedEx says I should be getting it tomorrow but there's been no progress updates since Tuesday so we'll see if it gets delayed.

According to the scale I have (which may not be *exact* as it’s made for people) is 14.4 pounds for Unicron, and about 2.9 pounds for the stand. So about 17-18 pounds all told. Add in the box and packing materials and booklet and such and I can see the total shipping weight hitting that 33 pound mark.

Mine rolled in a few days ago. I was almost certain that I'd be underwhelmed, especially with the robot mode. But as others have said, there's just something that's impossible to describe about him in robot mode. I was completely ready to write off the robot mode and simply display it in planet mode, but I cannot keep my eyes off of this figure in robot mode. It's almost like there's a word missing from the English dictionary that combines size, presence, visual magnetism, and the sheer awe that this figure gives off. I own the the Studio Cell figure and there's plenty that's been written about that figure and how great it is, but IMO, this figure is the decisive Unicron... and it's not even a close race.

Bad news, of course, is that mine is broken out of the box:
    broken.jpg

Plenty's been said already about this figure, so I'll try not to be repetitive...

The most surprising things about this figure for me is the better than expected articulation, combined with perfectly adequate joint strength which allow him to hold great poses... without the stand. Just about every reviewer has warned against doing anything without the stand, but mine does just fine. I don't intend to be utterly stupid about it, but I'm also about 90% confident that the stand is nothing more than a failsafe in robot mode and hardly necessary.

Initial fun (excuse the lighting, the areas in my home where this figure can be posed with decent lighting are limited):

Like all winged figures, wings are just so much fun, especially if they support any level of articulation:

Who knew Unicron had special moves? QCF + P:

And he just looks great from so many angles (even if he can't quite look down):

    A little bit of context:

    poses_9.jpg

And where he'll probably end up being displayed (yes, he's nearly 9 feet from the ground on glass with no stand):

I also just noticed that in the above photo, I didn't have the rear heel pieces locked in and flat against the surface. Yet, he still stands just fine up there.

Those photos made me realize that we NEED a giant sword. Does anyone have one that would be the right size? Preferably with some panel lining or molded detail to match 'cron.

The biggest brain of all in fact. Also reselling something for a higher price isn't scalping.
