I don't know. He looks off somehow. Not a major character, so I'll end up skipping him I think.

    I’m excited about these.

I love it if they changed the scale to something similar to the original toys and added cockpits for Diaclone reboot pilots.

    that’d be so badass.

Got to admit Convoy Skids looks pretty good. Got to admit this is a little more exciting due to the Jetfire and Raiden news.
Takara now has my permission to reveal a BW character......MP B'boom:D

DEFINITELY gonna pick up Reboost, and while I appreciate the olive branch to the toon aesthetic with the color scheme, I'm gonna have to wait for toy/Diaclone colors for Skids. That color placement just ain't doin it for me.

I dont think anyone has said anything about "ruined", and especially "loudly". Lots of dissappointment or praise, for the apparent shift, again, in aesthetics. Which is far from "minutia"
It's a stark contrast in design. Which is why there's a divide in the first place. So, yes, of course there's going to be division between fans of both sides, because the two styles are so different.

And, again, sorry, gotta disagree. Skids was prominent in the original Marvel US and UK comics. The City is a very popular and iconic car in Japan. And, he's often regarded as one of the better designs of the original Diaclone cars. He has a lot more reason to have fans than you give him credit for. There's a reason he's be reissued multiple times, and even had a Binaltech figure, something more prominent characters haven't.

I'm still torn by this release. I normally buy all the MPs and I would like to buy this, but I'm concerned that it is sending the wrong message to TT. I want more toon, not toy.

Don’t worry. I’m sure Hasbro will have lowered the bar several times by then. We’ll all be nostalgic for Hound.

I wish the mods would fix the announcement. As you can see, this new figure is not based on Screech. Login • Instagram

Not a fan at all, but it could just be the caked on paint. I'll probably end up getting them but these prototypes are far worse looking to me than I thought they would. I just hope they're fun little dudes.

Same. But, what's weird is, if it fully embraced the toy, with the toy head, all chrome weapons, black thighs, etc, I'd be super excited for it.

And I do think it's a very cool rendition of Skids. Just not the version I want for my current MP collection.

Conversely, I'm 100% sold on Reboost. I really enjoy how TT already sways them a bit more towards the toy, and I fully embrace added details when there isn't a cartoon model to follow.

I think maybe you’ve missed the point of this figure. It’s not toon accurate because it’s celebrating Diaclone’s 40th anniversary. It was designed by the original Diaclone designer who created the original Skids figure. That’s also why the red No. 6 Honda City-R Diaclone figure is becoming a new character. This is a one-off in celebration of Diaclone. They’re going back to cartoon accuracy in MPs. I bet we even get a cartoon remold of Skids at some point.

First ever MP that I\'ll buy. Screech looks okay, but I don\'t care for the character.
