I might try the Plastruct first to see if i can bond the posts back together but after that I was considering using the JB Weld to make the screw posts thicker (if there's room) so they won't break under the strain of the screws being tightened again, just in case the plastruct weld didn't hold. I'll let everyone know if it was a success when I do it.

Have you ever used the JB Weld PlasticWeld before? I'm wondering what it's like to use.

Yes i used jb weld to fix my construtor..i have previous posts with pics..what you want to do is use jb weld to put the broken parts together then get screws same type and diamiter as the existing screws but longer..once the jb weld sets screw those in...better than new

Oh, awesome. I picked up the JB Weld on a whim because I wanted to be prepared if anything else broke. I'm really happy you got good results with yours though and now i can fix mine before the next ice age when my replacement parts come. If they ever come. :p

BTW, you wouldn't happen to know the size of the screws you used as replacements in the legs do you? If not that's okay. Hopefully i can find some that work.

The reason too you want them longer: honestly the jb weld itself will hold but so you dont have to rebuild the posts the screws screw into you use the longer ones..hope that helps..good luck..post how it goes

One important last question and i'll stop harassing you lol. Did you put weld in between the break on the posts or on the outside of the post? Or both? Thanks for the help.

Mine definitely came with a couple issues right out of the box.

The elbow joint piston for Constructor's right arm was not even connected into the forearm and since there's no screws (all pins) I don't feel comfortable trying to disassemble the forearm to try and attach the piston to the forearm.

The ratchets were so tight on Constructor's shoulders and hips that I was afraid I was going to break the plastic they were attached to (see the guy's complaints in his video about Constructor's hip ratchets; I still feel like the plastic is going to snap before I will get those ratchets to move).

The caterpillar treads on Bonecrusher and Scavenger while very cool looking are super fragile and fall off often while attempting simple Constructor arm movements (because those damn ratchets are so tight you have to really get a good grip on the figures, which then causes the treads to pop off). The treads then get stressed and break very easily from either Constructor arm movements or when going from arms/vehicles into bots (yes, even when being ultra careful). TW should really be giving the customers 4-6 replacement caterpillar pieces for this reason instead of the 2 they provide for each figure.

Those are the only problems I've had with mine though. The elbow thing doesn't really effect his arm movement, it's more just principle of spending that much money on something to find such half-assery. If they could fix the ratchet issues though, that would go a long way to making more people happy, but I'm not holding my breath.

Still pretty happy with everything else about the figure(s) though. As it stands now, you kind of just have to put in the time (and subsequent care) to become a sort of Constructor "expert" so you don't go breaking stuff. A little bit of a learning curve, but nothing too crazy.

Ok, this is my weathered green version. I broke the arm (totally my fault by putting too much pressure on it). TFS-Express says they are trying to get a replacement from TW, but that might take a long time. Any ideas on if I can fix this myself or just kind of fix it until I get the replacement? Maybe I could glue it, then never move the arm?

Along the break point..if you put some on the posts you might need to drill the holes back out...i did not put any on the posts..by using the longer screws the posts will be strengthened and held together

Can anyone advise how to move this joint out? It is completely frozen, my goodness!

I'd use some Silicone oil before trying to move it again. Don't risk trying to force it too much until it's lubed up.

I have ordered one with 400cst (30wt), it is still on its way. Hopefully by putting it into the frozen ratchet joint, it can solve this. How does this silicone shock oil work actually? What is science behind it?

It's just like any lubricating oil really but it's very slippery and it's safe for plastics as opposed to petroleum based lubricants which can eventually negatively affect plastics. Take a look at this if you want a slightly more in-depth review of silicone oil.

But i'd put the oil on and let it sit a few minutes then slowly work the joint. Don't use too much oil BTW, a little goes a long way and you don't need it swimming in it.

Silicone oil is safe to use on ABS (which is the plastic used on most transforming toys).

I wonder what is the reason this joint is completely frozen. Taking a close look, it doesn’t seem to have the ratchet teeth like the bottom. Is this the reason it is frozen?
