Huh, that's a lot to digest. I don't think he was the one who didn't want the robots to talk, it was Ian Bryce if I remember right, he was also against Unicron showing up in Transformers that's why Orci and Kurtzman left Transformers 3 because they wanted Unicron and Bryce said it was stupid. He left production of the films after TLK I think and I remember reading here, no idea if it was SilverOptimus, that Unicron was added by Paramount or Hasbro during the production of TLK out of nowhere to set up sequels. On the Alligned Continuity I cannot comment, I hope Hasbro got more control on them. EOne is pretty big and Hasbro hired some great people who worked on the MCU aswell. So who knows, only time will tell.

Hasbro Studios became Allspark Pictures which produced Bumblebee and when they aquired EOne they closed Allspark Pictures and moved all the people to EOne with a new leadership. What I would say is, Paramount had a lot of changes going on since TLK flopped and they changed the leadership a lot, I hope the new CEO is taking care of what films they release.

This... sounds absolutely spectacular, and the best way for Transformers to truly cement their place in modern pop culture alongside the MCU and Star Wars (the Mandalorian-verse) as universally beloved franchises.

It sounds as if it has a rather simple plot that offers many opportunities for world-building, Transformers characters instead of robot props, and extremely relevant themes for today's age (if Galvatron 1998's source is telling the truth).

To be honest, I've been really losing interest in this franchise since maybe about 2019; I love the Bumblebee movie to bits, but everything media-wise after it has been cheap, purely nostalgia-reliant shit.

Honestly, though I'm usually a huge skeptic when it comes to this kind of stuff, I'm inclined to believe all these rumors for two reasons: 1. I just want to be excited about something Transformers-related, you know? 2. Unlike the MCU or Star Wars, the Transformers fanbase is pitiful in numbers compared to them (at the moment) so creating fake news about it is less of a priority for those assholes who just want attention.

But I'm going to keep my excitement tempered like I did with Bumblebee and have my default assumption be that Hasbro/Paramount will f this up so badly and result in the Transformers never having another film or tv show for the next ten years.

 

Both films took the characters all over the planet hunting for artifacts, especially ROTF.

 

Umm something is odd here. He said the film has nothing to do with Beast Wars, but later on: Yeah Cheetor is in as a Guardian. Huhh? Also as far as I know Paramount doesn't have a dedicated poster department. They pay outside companies for this job. Like SanasCorp.

 

Did he say he directly works for Paramount? I don't think he meant that. Also, how do we know he knows a lot about Beast Wars? Just because Cheetor is in the film it doesn't make it a Beast Wars film. We don't even know if he is like the cartoon version either. Also, do you know when they usually make posters and stuff like that? I'm curious about that.

 

I've got some bad news for everyone. I talked with my source this morning and as I suspected he turned out to be messing with me. He swears he wasn't trying to be a dick about it and that he just wanted to generate some discussion (he's one of the few friends I have that's into Transformers like I am). He was going to give me more false info this morning but after I told him about the responses here he felt bad. Sorry for getting people's hopes up and come April 1st I guarantee you I'm going to get him good.

 

Toy concepts only, Hasbro's design team tend to get info drip fed from the Studio and are having to constantly revise as film stuff changes.

Hence why I don't share details until things are firmed up/I've seen production samples or engineering proto's.

Damn, that's sad. I will never understand this kind of stuff, I can dig the idea that plots change and scripts get re-written but to mess with people like that. Oh well, thank you for clearing this up.

I mean, they can be both. I wouldnt mark them strictly as disaster films either way though. The closest to "disaster" was DOTM and TLK's third acts with Cybertron colliding with Earth.

I call B.S on that because the whole premise of TLK is directly tied to Unicron being Earth.
