There's just something about Bumblebee's head.

Posing Unicron off the stand still feels somewhat scary.

Seeing all these cool photos makes me jealous. My Unicron has a compromised left shoulder. Completely falls apart if the wing is plugged into it.

I hope there's a third party wing set coming soon. These wings are just way, WAY too heavy and big for that joint to support.

Is it the ratchet that's failing? that might actually be a pretty simple fix. the construction of the shoulder ratchet seems to be super simple. I've seen the way its constructed (and ill have my own soon enough to see it first hand) and it might just be a clearance thing with the mechanism. You just might need a stronger spring/spacer to get the main ratchet tooth to sit closer to the teeth of the joint to get more contact.

Sadly no, it's the plastic tabs on the shoulder (or the holes they enter into on the chest) that won't bear the weight of the wings. Whole arm flops out of place.

I've since emailed Hasbro Pulse with a polite, but explicitly disappointed, letter asking what the next steps would be.

With it being close to an electrical socket, you're probably better off putting it on top of the box.

ahh I know what part you are talking about now. There is apparently a spring loaded latch on each arm that helps cement those tabs you are talking about into place that seem to exist specifically to prevent this issue. I'm watching Peaugh's review on him now and he's the first person who I have heard mention these spring latch things up till now. Is it possible you have overlooked these? I've heard the instruction booklet is terrible

he starts talking about the shoulder transformation at 19:40 and mentions the spring latch at 20:30

The full family photo. It is ABSTOLUELY INSANE what we accepted as Unicron for 17 years compared to this. For the record that's Taraka Legend's Galvatron with the Renderform head (way better than the other ones out there). 25th Anniversary Unicron has some Ebay upgrades.

Hasbro made the right move by making this a made-to-order premium product, rather than dumb it down for mass release (even at a higher price point than a normal Titan). Let's face it: he was never going to "fail". He was always going to be funded, and Hasbro just created a window where you could get one.

    Bring on the 3P upgrades!

The box would stick out too far for my liking, and I'm going to put a plug in it anyway.

No, sadly that spring latch doesn’t help much when the tab itself is weak. There really should be another latch at the back of the shoulder connection. If either of those two tabs connecting the shoulder to the chest fail, the entire joint is compromised. A weak spring loaded flap on one side isn’t going to rectify that unfortunately.

I don’t know whoever greenlit this engineering choice but clearly they weren’t of sound mind
