From where do you get the idea that basing franchise movies on previous iterations is a inherently bad thing? They've been doing it for decades now, on both good and bad films. Hell, we've had good movies based on bad stories and bad movies based on good stories even.

    The aligned continuity:

But seriously, I don't think Hasbro ever gave up the idea of creating a unified continuity. Hence, why both Bumblebee and Cyberverse feature Seekers as the main Decepticon drone-type characters. Maybe "unified continuity" is a strong term, but I do think Hasbro will continue to share certain things across the current set of series. Let's hope they pull the good ideas and not the bad ones (aka Tarn clones).

Cheetor guarding an artifact would make sense because then that means the Beast Wars happened and he stayed behind on prehistoric Earth and guarded the artifact (The Allspark?) to present day of the films (1980's/1990's?) like the old Templar knight did with the Holy Grail at the temple in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

    I really like this idea.

The only thing I DON'T like is the giant oversized Megatron. He should be about the same size as Prime.

I know better than to expect TWO good Transformers movies in a row.

I will expect nothing until the movie is out and positive reviews are in

There’s one thing that doesn’t add up, at the end of bumblebee there’s 7 pods C4D7EBA9-6F98-4C31-8DDA-948E4D3EFB7C.jpeg and the post mentions only 5 of the possible characters in the pods, so who are the other 2 characters? Or are the characters in the pod decepticons?

Because AoE and TLK are shit films that tried copying the ongoing series because the writers couldn't actually come up with original stuff and so had to crib from whatever already existed?

I mean, AoE suspiciously has a core Autobot team that is nigh-identical to the one from Animated; Prime, Bumblebee, Japanese guy with swords, big fat green military vehicle guy, the only one missing is a medic who AoE literally murdered to put in another generic supercar guy. And then the bad guy is Lockdown, who is simply supposed to be some unattached third party except all the interesting parts of him were stripped away - such as how he's supposed to look like a frankenstien monster of assembled upgrades taken from his victims (something the original Lockdown toy design from the ROTF toyline got right) and how he actually was in fact the driving force behind an insane amount of plot events in the show's past as well as how the resolution was achieved.

TLK has 'Unicron is Earth' which, while great on paper, is in fact a colossally dumb idea because that kneecaps any chance of Unicron actually appearing in robot mode, because the moment he starts transforming, every single organic thing on the planet surface will die for a multitude of reasons. And given how the bay movies absolutely will not allow an apocalypse to happen to the humans to the point rubbing parts of Cybertron all over the surface of the planet like massage balls does not instantly kill billions of humans? Unicron wouldn't ever get the chance - at best, he'd be transferred into some other body, at which point Unicron being Earth was nothing more than a bait-and-switch.

We are talking a movie with a $200 million budget and out of the gate it's a non-zero chance that Cheetor is getting included for no apparent reason other than because the cartoons did it? This is exactly the kind of disassociation with the franchise that led to the widespread condemnation of the bayverse in the later films. Sure, maybe he's Cheetor in name only and he turns into a Honda crotch rocket or something, only time will tell, but it's not a promising start even with taking a grain of salt.

    Okay, that was good:lol

And the seekers being the generic evil fodder certainly goes back to the whole thing in G1 needing to do it by just copy-pasting the same drawing over and over, so I don't think it's a unified continuity so much as 'G1 did it'.

My main problem with this angle is that, again, we have a plot involving ancient history and an artifact mcguffin.

Bumblebee was refreshing because it did go back to the idea that there was nothing intrinsically special about Earth other than it just existed. No ancient bullcrap, no nonsense that would be retconned in, just an alien war that happened to migrate to some random backwater planet infested with humans.

One easy way to confirm if the info is correct... casting.

4Chan can be a hit or miss. Very similarly, Snake Eyes movie info leaked months before we even heard about the movie officially and 100% turned out legit. I was amazed at even the tiniest details which leaked and filming confirmed all of it.
On the other hand, we've seen complete bullshit from 4Chan.

A lot of this sounds very suspect. A little too good, y'know? Though Cheetor being cemented as a brand constant is fine by me, especially if his guardianship role is given the personality of his Beast Machines portrayal.

The poster said the roster of robots he is "aware" of so he probably doesn't know all of them. I hope we get another fembot with Arcee (but not Windblade please).

"Hey Big bot, weren't there 7 Autobots on the way?"

    "Unfortunately two of them drowned."

Some of the wording in there sounds a little familiar... but I guess we'll see.

Yep. And I believe the casting search is well underway (or at least about to ramp up), so we could possibly start hearing some casting reports from trades soon-ish.

I still have to watch The Land (2016) and Creed II (2018) to make my mind on Caple Jr. but from what I read he is a very promising director so it hopefully works.

Regarding Megatron size, I might be wrong, but it could be something similar we have seen as its shadow compared to Optimus @ Yolopark.

That would be a big size difference and it would make Optimus the underdog.

Nothing more you said has any relevance, because your point is inherently broken on this point: TLK and AoE are shit becasue they are shit because they were badly made.

Absolutely 0 of them being bad had to do with the fact that some plot points were (frankly, LOOSELY) based on pre-existing media.

That is all there is to it.

I'm getting the same feeling when the whole "Transformers 90s" rumors happened. Everything's sounds just too good to be true. I hope it's true, I really do, but I can't trust info like this just yet

What 90s rumors? The film takes place in the 90s from what we know and it seems logical.

There was a rumor a few months back on here that the title of the movie was "Transformers 1990", similar to "Wonder Woman 1984", "The Transformers" was another rumored title.

Also I can see Cheetor being included in the next movie as a similar role he had in Cyberverse Season 2, just as I can see the Quintessons being the main villain of the Cybertron prequel same as the recent Chapter 2: Earthrise of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. Also the Bumblebee Movie used the Amnesia storyline for Bumblebee the same year as Cyberverse did, result of Brand Synergy. Similar to AOE/Animated and TLK/Prime, DOTM/G1 to some extent as well.

Interesting. I only know of a rumor that Joseph Kosinski was going to direct the next film which might have been true or fake. Or they had talks and didn't go well. No idea.
