So what are we thinking? Are we optimistic that Beast Alliance is gonna use its budget to craft a fantastic cinematic experience with beautiful visuals and character work, or are we apprehensive that it'll revert to the Bayhem which obviously worked so well for them in the end?

We know jackshit about this movie, it hasn't even begun filming and we're already ready to hate this? Damn, y'all. The budget doesn't mean anything for the quality of the movie. It could just be expenses for film location, it could be to make the CGI better and less video gamey like the Bumblebee Cybertron scene. We may see a larger cast more often, requiring more animation and clean up meaning higher budget. Too many variables to take into account with this, wind the doomsday clock back a little please.

This film is not going to be part of the Bayverse.

Welcome to TFW2005, where people automatically assume the worst when presented with very limited information.

7? Great. I thought that the G1 leaning of Bumblebee would show how much fans are clamoring for that. I skipped the last two after being burned by the Bay movies. Bumblebee gave me a glimpse of what could have been... but alas... they want to keep it in the same universe as sexual and crude baybots.

That's TFW and article writers shorthanding "The seventh live action Transformers film" not that this is a sequel to TLK.

They created 4 movies that absolutely got raked over the coals by critics (pro and fan), so it makes sense that fans would be hesitant to something called Transformers 7.

New Transformers Movie would have been better.

We're looking at a $200 million budget - for comparison, the lowball end of TLK was only $217. And having more robots means nothing if it does the same thing as TLK where the Decepticons are hardly even in it for any meaningful length of time.

Furthermore, the biggest problem with Bumblebee was people simply weren't interested because they thought it was just going to be more of the same mess that TLK ended up being. Paramount should have learned they need to emphasize the films are not more Bayhem and right now they're not doing that.

Plus, they're going to Peru? Why in hell are they needing to go to film in Peru? That right there is throwing up red flags because they made quite a point back during TLK filming of how 'international' the film was, filming in exotic and special places like Churchill's estate, Cuba, even Stonehenge itself). And all those on-site location filmings were ultimately wasted and pointless. They straight up built a replica Stonehenge next to Stonehenge so they could blow it up (as opposed to simply having just used a replica stonehenge anywhere and not having spent time and money getting permission to film on a heritage site which has infamously crappy ground soil quality), and then going as far back as ROTF, they got rare permission to film on the Pyramid...and all that ended up being used for was a joke about robots having balls.

For a film company that was in bad shape even before the pandemic, to put out a release about how they're blowing just as much money on another Transformers film and one of the few solid facts is that they're going international again...well, you know the saying 'Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..."?

We're at the seventh iteration of that and there's no indication that Paramount learned a thing about Bumblebee being the highest rated film while also having kept budget down even with reshoots and didn't need to leave the United States for anything.

    See @Kaynowa explanation above.

Also worth noting that they called Bumblebee “Transformers 6”. What fans need to do is stop assuming the worst and stop being drama queens over the limited information that they’re presented with.

This movie can be whatever it wants to be so long as we get some cool new robot designs and toys. Everyone was gushing over the return to G1 from Bumblebee, but I was just glad the original movie aesthetic wasn't completely abandoned.

We don't know anything about the quality of the script to make this kind of judgement call though. We don't even have a cast, do we? I get being worried but this is their very first outing since Bumblebee, we can't say "they learned nothing" or even guess that just because the filming locale is wider than San Francisco. If this is the "beast alliance" film that's been rumored or scripted or what have you, a Peruvian forest may very well be a good backdrop for a lot of those scenes. We don't know yet, that's all I'm saying.

I'm just hoping Thrust utilizes his Armada tactician persona, maybe make Thundercracker, team medic like his WFC Video Game take.

The current rumors do point to it being in the Bumblebee Universe, yes. There's also a chance it takes place in an entirely new universe.

I hope so as well, this is a problem in all the live-action movies *INCLUDING* Bumblebee where the title character is a mute amnesiac who acts more like a dog than anything else, i don't quite get why Hollywood seems to have no faith in the cybertronians being able to carry the story as characters, BB in particular focused more on Charlie and Agent Burns than any of it's main CB characters, it's nice to have better human characters but these stories should be focused on the Transformers in the first place.
