You're absolutely right, all these size queens need to chill the f**k out--we're two, three years into War for Cybertron, it's nothing new.
And people who are going to start saying "but Leader Grimlock..." WE FINALLY HAVE A TOYLINE IN SCALE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 35 YEARS,
stop trying to ruin it for us!! Hasbro's always been a bunch of cheap, stingy a$$holes, that's why we diehard Takara fans have been balking about
the "brand unification" since we got f'd on Power of the Primes 2 years ago. Whether you get more guns, more hinges, more paint.. it's all based on
how much Hasbro thinks you like the character and how much they think they can squeeze out of you, and no amount of complaining is ever going to fix that.

Even in these very poorly taken photos, I think we can all see a bunch of hinges, flaps, more engineering than Siege/Earthrise Megs got,
on par with what SS86 Hot Rod has but in a different size class, so yeah, I can easily afford $50 for this. I mean, for crying out loud, this isn't Hot Toys,
it's a f***ing generic retail figure you can buy at Target.

Hmm, so he’s roughly the same size as Titans returns (which is reasonable), which also means he’s close to the size of mania king. We’ll see what future pictures look like, but I may be fine with my mania king. I assumed he’d be an automatic buy. He really may not be. Need to dig out mania king and look at him next to cyclonus and scourge.

I swear between SS86 Hot Rod, Kingdom Rodimus and now this clearly the only figures made by Hasbro to be decent value for money are these:



No damn deluxe class height here, this guy is commander Jetfire height. Since height is apparently the only metric this fandom is capable of measuring by anymore. If you’re this upset about $50 you probably shouldn’t be in this hobby.

 

This Galvatron is really great! The new pics are great and way, way, way much better than his TR version! He on another levels of details and an awesome model!

 

I’m convinced that when we get official photos and even in box photos, people will say “it’s photoshopped” or “it’s the angle, it’ll look better”.

 

Anything can look like a monkeyman with the right angle.

Unfortunately, it's not really any better. It's in line with there being minor distortion in the other photos, but not in line with the "everything will look perfect with proper pictures" crowd. His head and shoulder pads are still enormous, his ape arms still go down to his knees, and his torso is still too wide to a hilarious degree.

It's a real shame, because unlike a number of people, I'm really happy with them raising these figures to the next price point to get a higher part count and better engineering. Hopefully this disaster of a figure doesn't put them off of the idea.

He looks pretty good but I'm finally starting to see the low shoulder thing people keep mentioning. I think even a tiny shift up would help a lot. This edit puts them about a quarter of an inch higher

It looks much better in my opinion. I’m 99% sure the proportions problems you’re mentioning are because of the angles, but I respect your opinion.

My guess like SS86 Hot Rod he'll look better and more proportional in "action" versus standing G1 style.

That is so much nicer.

Looks really close to the animation model sheets too, only the chest is a bit larger, which is probably a necessity for the cannon mode.
