Got Unicron this morning... And I have no idea why I got one already... ? Yes , I bought one...but, My order # is around 26000 mark.... They must be running some kind of a lottery algorithm to decide who gets these things? Just to cause more excitement than it already has. I suppose I should finally take mine out of the box and check for QC errors. Wish me luck

Scalpers working for whatever shipping company delivers... ends up being an entirely different ultra-high-end figure, but from like... Power Rangers.

I think those order numbers are just based on overall Pulse orders tho, not specifically unicron orders? So it might give people SOME idea, but prolly not much?

He's got a clock, it's just got a blue frame instead of a yellow one.

how the hell do you even attach his stand????

EDIT: Had to watch a video to figure out how to attach the stand. The instructions are horrid. The way the panels and hinges work, every one of these is going to break. Terrible, terrible engineering.

DOUBLE EDIT: There are instructions on the very LAST PAGE on how to REMOVE the stand. So... do that in reverse.

I get what you're saying about the panels, but having transformed Unicron once so far, I feel like the panels should be fine. They seem sturdy enough. Just need to massage it a bit when trying to collapse them. I am pretty impressed by how nice of a sphere the planet mode is. That's not something I'd necessarily expect from a "mainline" type product from Hasbro. I mean, the panels from my Armada Unicron has a hard time being aligned, and I think it had like two panels. For me the nice sphere makes it worth it to have the panels being a bit tough to unlock.

Ran by Edina Target this morning. No new core or Deluxes, but definitely plenty of Dinobots (4). I grabbed the lone inferno and magnus (there might be more magnuseses behind some of the many BW Megs they had).
If you need SS86, they had all of it as well.

I will say, I wasn't planning on getting Inferno, but he looks super good in hand, and Magnus is enough of a departure that I grabbed him too (though the thing that pushed me over the edge was @Rodimus Pie pointing out the way they do the light piping, which is rad)

I’m still really conflicted on how many Dinobots I want I’m thinking possibly 7. 2 for the actual character beast/bot and five for customizing into blue and the 4 Raptoricons.

Hopefully Magnus and the wave 2 Deluxes start popping up around the North Metro here soon.

I finally broke down and ordered Siege Omega Supreme from The Chosen Prime. Anything I should watch out for with the figure? Like weak joints, parts prone to breakage?

Nothing prone to breakage, but on the two copies I’ve seen, the little gun on the back of his head is somewhat loose and doesn’t stay up very well. Don’t try to take the head apart to add polish, unless you want to break the inner tabs of the head, which I did.

After what feels like years, I finally got him into robot mode... but I missed my daughter’s birth AND graduation.

I still stand by the bad engineering. He’s sturdier than I thought, but extremely awkward with all the panels, and the kibble looks worse in person. But my biggest gripe is you have to remove his head to transform him to planet mode.

I haven’t tried the transformation back to planet mode yet (might give it a go tonight), but I’m pretty sure if you rotate the horns down you can transform him with the head on.

    By the way, nice setup!

Thanks! Last time for a while I can have this much stuff set up, since I now have to jam my collection into our second bedroom starting next week.

Definitely let us know if you can get his head in there in planet mode. Doesn’t seem like there’s room for it, but I hope I’m wrong!

OK, I finished transforming Unicron back to planet mode. There's definitely room to spare for the head in there. I don't think there is much of a risk for paint scratching. Transformation back to planet wasn't too bad, just had to figure out where some of the parts should be positioned. I feel like Hasbro did a pretty good job with tolerances on this one. If it had typical tolerancing seen on their mass market releases, I think it would have been a disaster. The shells were a little bit challenging to fit back together into a sphere, but once I got there, everything fits perfectly. Not sure something like this could be said for too many of the retail releases from SS or WFC.

This shows the amount of space inside for Unicron's head:
