Why the hell did they half paint the cannon like that?

 

Assuming nothing is missing I'm guessing the old gun handle that turned into the rear leg for cannon mode is now folded up into the bottom of the legs, which does make it seem too small. Also may rule out laser gun 3rd mode.

 

That battle damage and half painted cannon... 

Maybe Hasbros planning to relaunch Galvatron without the ugly paint in the SS line? 

 

Sorry about that. I adore the ol dinobot. Beast Wars being my childhood Tformers. I was making satire about how Galvatron will inevitably be in two different modern toylines. But some Geewunners got butthurt I was mocking how ok they are with G1 oversaturation.

I dont know what is up with the WFC trilogy figures and their short legs. GRACIOUS.

 

Hmm the face closeup makes me think the helmet can be lifted and he has another face to be rotated out...

 

He feels a little wide and a lil stumpy in the legs. I like his colors, but battle damage paint at this point makes not a lot of sense to me considering his botmates Cyclonus and Scourge have none. Some rubbing alcohol might be able to fix that.

I would expect him to be slightly more proportionate. His headsculpt makes me happy and he looks good for the most part. I just think that his legs should be less stumpy and his torso not as wide.

My 2 cents. We've been spoiled a lot with the WFC series. I kind of want Galv to look as close to this as possible. They've done a pretty damn good job.

 

Man, threads like this only serve to demonstrate that Hasbro should never ever listen to the demands of the fan community without appreciable sales data. If they did they’d go bankrupt within a year or two. A forth seem to be blind or illiterate, 75-80% make snap judgements based on a single piece of evidence, 5-10% will buy whatever garbage you put in front of them and another commensurate number will bitch and vociferously refuse to buy it because the figure’s pinky is 1mm too long.

 

Ok, just to summarize, it looks like take new pics with big grain of salt. Ok for some details but fisheyed to heck and back. Original pics are the actual figure. Should wait on reviews.

Ignoring the perspective issues, that battle damage is a lot more blatant than I originally thought. Still looking forward to it, but man, such a large variance in the shades of purple does not do this figure any favors. It could be silver, so I guess I can't complain too much, but still, the battle damage is really unecessary.

 

Overall: happy with the engineering, not thrilled with the paint. Luckily the paint is a solvable problem if you're adequately skilled.

...Which I'm not. ^_^;;

 

Something seems off on the perspective from that head on shot.

This doesn't look as bad.
Head definitely looks a lot better.
Shorter, more menacing.
Paint damage is better , not as obvious.
But I would prefer there be none.
Consistent with the rest of kingdom.
Fresh from reformatting.
Not the "I've been fighting for a century and still can't find a can of touch-up" look.

Legs could be a bit bigger / chunkier, but that's nitpicking. It looks really good, other than the painted bird poop or whatever. Doesn't look too terribly hollow, either. Hope he has ratcheted hips.
