That 10th anniversary set was a very welcome surprise.

I cannot put into words how happy and overjoyed I was when it was revealed, finally able to get those two for a decent price.

Still, it would be nice to see generations styled versions of the characters as well, although repaints wouldn't do them all justice, even something like the later IDW ratchet design that took inspiration from TFP would work as a nice mix.

I would also say that I would've like the First Edition figures reissued, but APC kinda has that covered already.

So hasbro, roll out with those Chug versions already  .

 

Gonna be honest, I really don't get the people getting so upset over the battle damage on this figure. Some of the battle damage in Siege was really overdone (particularly on Starscream and Soundwave), but this is much more tasteful and almost resembles cel shading due to the purple color. I honestly kinda like it. And I'm very thankful that they seem to have assigned him to one of the good face sculpters and not the one who did Blurr and ER Megatron.

Hey, upon closer inspection, it looks like Kingdom Galvatron's head really does appear different/more streamlined to other instances of G1 Galvatron's head...

At the same time, I don't know if that's supposed to foreshadow a future SG Megatron or Energon Megatron/Galvatron via this big guy. If it was the latter, the horns would be bigger, right?

Where did we hear about getting more SG guys, anyway? I think I read it in the leak thread eons ago, but I'd like someone to jog my memory...

(FYI, I still want to see this guy in G1 toy colors as Selects Galvatron II.)

 

That, and maybe his mouth should be just a bit more frowny. That's super nitpicky though, but it is my preference. Other than that it's spot on.

 

The only thing I'm slightly disappointed in his his belt doesn't have the red buckle but thats an easy dab of paint. The rest of the figure looks glorious.

 

Agreed on the battle damage, I especially like that they touched his arms with it. But headsculpt wise the bad head sculptor had his hand in Kup and Blurr. ER Megatron is fine.

This is what I was trying to point out earlier. It's a fantastic head sculpt but I noticed some subtle shapes that are very reminiscent of Megatron. It gives me some hope that they planned to use this for SG Megatron. Maybe they hedged their bets. I wouldn't mind buying both.

Seems all they did was retool megatron's head slightly added galvy crown and panted his helmet purple.

The face screams Megatron though. can't be denied.

Still looks good though.

I don't want to see clues of a future SG Megatron in Galvatron's HEAD. SG Megatron has his own, non-Galvatron head. If SG Megs just has a Galvatron noggin I'm not sure that'd be a satisfying return of him.

 

I have absolutely no desire to go back to stickers.

Interesting how the smallest change makes a whole world of difference.  

 

We have no desire to go back to battle damage, yet here we are.
I have to be honest, I don't see any problem with including battle damage stickers for those who want it on their figures but lack the time or ability to paint it on themselves.
Not all stickers are like that Titans Return crap. If Hasbro includes quality stickers to do the trick it will please the people who don't want battle damage and it will allow those who do want it to tack it on.
You can please everyone if you do it right.
