Finally got this dude! It's the beginning of a VERY limited Megatron collection.

Anyway, he looks great working with G1 Megatron to command these... Dimensional Interlopers.

Is there any news about QC on the absolute zero or did they do better with this release?

I wonder if they'll do it in purple for the RID Megs.

Ok thanks. I know that the red one had a hip issue and wanted to know before I got this for my brother for his birthday since he likes it and I didn't want it to break on him.

well i would still recommend care with handling this figure regardless of the absence of any direct QC issues. this mold is highly ambitious with respect to complexity and parts count for such a small scale. any ham-fisted attitude will surely net you a broken figure sooner or later. not to say this thing is fragile, but you still got to respect there's some delicate design involved to achieve such a nice TF at this scale.

also IF seems to be pretty good with customer support in addressing any issues.

Yeah, I was a victim of the hip issue. Never even transformed the figure, just left it in bit mode posed on the shelf and it still crumbled. Got a replacement for the hip 5 months later from ShowZ (what a hassle that was). I would recommend lubing any tight joints as soon as you get it.

Sorry for the dumb question, when replacing the head, were you able to pop it off and snap on the alternate head or did you unscrew it?

Seeing as it is screwed together, I didn’t even think to just pop the head off. Honestly, I would be very concerned of breaking the figure if I tried to just pluck the head off the ball joint. Maybe that’s just my nervousness talking, but I don’t think that’s entirely so.

Anyway, I also have a good Phillips head jeweler’s screwdriver, so it was pretty easy to do.

agreed, not sure why anyone would not just loosen/remove the screw and separate the two halves of the head versus taking the risk of breaking something by not doing so.

Heh, a couple of people answered this already, but yeah, out of an abundance of caution, I unscrewed it. But I don't think you can pop it off anyways without unscrewing it.

I was thinking about getting this blue version as I love the normal red version. But...I noticed today my copy is having the hips cracking.

I got mine back in August of last year and haven’t really messed with it minus two transformations and some plastic shaving on some of the tight tolerances.
Went ahead and applied a thin super glue layer to see if that reinforces it but that’s a huge bummer to see.

i would have taken photos of the cracks before repairing and reached out to your retailer for IF support to try to get replacements regardless of how long it's been. :(

I did and sent them over to TCP to see if it’s possible.

Thankfully they are amazing with support but IF has been hit and miss recently.

I had to get a claw piece for my DEC Tesarus figure due to it missing one new out of the box and that literally took a year to get. And that was before the pandemic...
So far the hips aren’t exploding and the cracks seem to be not all the way through the plastic but I’m hoping this will help.
I’ve had to repair so many figures recently (FansHobby Naval Commander was a real good test of that) so I’m hoping it’ll do the same here.

Thanks! I ended up finding a small screwdriver in a watch repair kit to use.
