I'm not sure about other people here, I have no connection to the character but the NA figure looks really good to me, the legends thread was going nuts about it, they fell in love with it, I remember one comment saying the robot mode literally "walked off the page" so I guess it is about the robot mode.

I'm guessing the alt mode is "close enough" and honestly I don't see much difference myself, they are very similar.

For me my perfect Straxus (Darkmount) will still be the generations one, and I will never call it Straxus, it's called Darkmount (fight me :p )

Imagine if hasbro retooled this into Galvatron *chefs kiss

There are animation or drawings or cgi errors weird perspectives etc in nearly all Transformers media from Marvel up to IDW. From G1 to recent stuff. Highlighting errors of certain media says nothing about whether or not accuracy is desirable. It only shows that man made mistakes are present..

Because of those errors, variations, and simplifications, there really is not such thing as a single meaning for "g1 accuracy" and "Cartoon accuracy" is an oxy moron. Taking the idea of a g1 character and improving it is laudable, but trying to 100% match the particular look a character had in one frame or concept sketch to the detriment of all else, including good transformations and engineering, is not a good thing.

Why do these threads always get derailed by arguments over g1? You can love or hate g1 as much as you want, but can we all please stop regurgitating the same old tired arguments and talk about something else on the forums for once?

I don't get it either. I mean, I don't like the Unicron Trilogy or the Bay movies. Do you know what I do? Avoid discussing them. I don't bring them up, I let their fans like them.

I'd love to see some.of the concept designs make it to toy form, some of the concept bots and cons look fantastic, as did alot of the toy only characters from the movies lines, it's sad we don't get those kind of designs anymore, specifically lockdown, Mindwipe, Highbrow, lugnut and seaspray.

Theres also the actual finalized character models, the things the artists referenced, that are unchanged. Its what MP-44 used and it worked wonderfully

Exactly, no one will deny the show was done on the cheap... animation wise. But I think the design work on G1, especially the movie, was terrific.

For those that like that, mp-44 works

For those that preffered the mp-10 era it does not.

Ill be the first to say that mp-3 looks miles better than mp-52

Generations took that torch and ran with it. Over the years, we've gotten a lot of really inspired takes like classic did. To some degree, I actually prefer Hasbro goes the stylized route but that's because I never thought they'd foot the bill it'd take to be this accurate with the original designs, especially S03. Now that they've done so, I want them to finish it.

Isn't it technically one full line in three parts(S/E/K)? Being consistent within those three (+SS86) should be a goal not an aberration I'd think, yeah?

RTS Lugnut. I'm really curious what a SS RTS Lugnut would look like (or re-release the original since that one is damn near perfect to me).

I felt the studio OX designs improved on it even further.

Yeah personally I'd prefer an affordable option of close enough to accurate versions of characters, rather than overstylized and leaving the accuracy to expensive folk. WFC was a godsend to me. Granted, I do have some MP of my own, some KOs, but its so much easier to grab a $50 Galvatron off the shelf rather than a $200 sovereign, or $50 ER prime than a now $300 Mp-10 or $500 MP-44.

I mean, if we can get Corronation Starscream complete with armor, cape and crown, surely we can get Bad Comedy Starscream, that turns grey when you dip him in water a la 80s Zartan from GI Joe. :D

The main reason for the arguments is because G1 is so far the only thing available to people outside of some 3rd party offerings, it's fatigue manifesting as rage.

Had G1 accuracy been only MP and then maybe a line called SS84, with new stuff for the main line, there probably wouldn't be as many arguments about G1 as there are now.

That's not even mentioning the other parts of Transformers some fans want updates too that Hasbro hasn't touched in nearly a decade or more. People have told me I'm supporting "thieves" by buying 3rd party, but sorry Hastak isn't making Armada figures, let alone Armada MP's, so that's where my money's going.

woulda prefered if they did what they did with classics, but instead of g1 diff lines like ut or bw
thats the biggest issue with g1 being everywhere. g1 aint the only thing in transformers, other series like ut, bw and rid really aint got much compared to it. like only now are we getting a bw line and its still 50% g1
before prime wars chug was mostly just g1 but stylized, now its mostly just g1 but again. meanwhile ut only gets like what, one repaint every year?

i meant ss, wfc and mp. they aint the same technically but the ideas the same
