I’m finding that it’s clipping in the rear glass is the scary part. Crazy right unless I’m doing something wrong.

Also, I have the “windshield doesnt seat flush” problem. Ugh.

This toy is...challenging. I want to love it but it’s stiff as heck in places, extremely delicate in others and doesn’t fit together in places. Add it up and I’ve got a fiddly, delicate, hard to pose mess that by design looks like it should be a joy to handle. Maddening.

Curious if anyone has a comparison picture with Maketoys Downbeat?

    Thanks in advance.

got my jazz today, carefully got access to the hinge and sanded the possible pressure point down, along with that friction tab thing for the rear window. hinge flexes fine now, but transforming him into car mode it feels the windscreen wont go into place without flexing stuff, wonder if this is why it breaks? leaving him in bot mode until someone can figure it out.

Not only do I have the crack at the front of the windshield, I also found a crack at the rear where the back piece hinges.

    Sigh.

After my ER Prowl broke his roof off, I'm very disappointed. And I really like this version of Jazz.

Yet another victim of too much brittle, clear plastic and not enough play testing for tolerances.. so far my jazz hasn't shown any cracks but I've literally only transformed him to vehicle and back once.

And now he's on the ER shelf, I doubt I will transform him again (unless someone does actually come out with a replacement roof/back)

spent best part of an hour looking at this figure, think ive found something related to the issue. i removed the panel that jazzs head is on (its only attached via tab hinge) and i found getting to car mode was a lot easier. im thinking it could be the raised reinforcement bump that runs along the neck panel preventing it from sitting low enough for it all to line up. to prevent me spamming this thread, will just update this post if i have any updates. i def still love this figure though :)

Great figure, I don’t have the plastic window cracking issues, BUT I do have a spoiler issue where it doesn’t line up. You can see it in vehicle mode but I can’t adjust it so it’s permanently at that tilt.

Beyond that, I highly recommend the Reprolabel set! It really improves the figure’s overall look.

Complaint: I wish the figure had more paint applications. I don’t mind stickers but it’ll never look as nice as paint decos.

Here’s my little Jazz family. SS86 and alternators with reprolabels, premium version of downbeat. My SS86 has the knee issue, otherwise fine!

Looking at that photo, you might want to take a closer look. Could just be the angle but it looks like the beginning of a seam in the window and a stress mark on the hinge.

Totally agree! I wish the stickers for the stripe were *just* a little bigger to cover up the whole painted area, but it's a really good set. I love ToyHax's label sets.

He doesn’t have a crack. My Jazz looks like that from the side too but it’s just an illusion because the plastic has a small bump near the middle. It’s not present when looking from the front.

I transformed mine five or six times without any signs of a crack, then suddenly one appeared yesterday. I guess it's inevitable unfortunately.

With a few details added, this mold really pops! So glad to have this vehicle at a budget.

dropped hasbro a message asking if they would be rereleasing the figure with the issue fixed, along with a link to this thread and a description of the issue, this is the reply i got
"Thank you for your email regarding our Transformers SS86 Jazz.
Hasbro’s number one concern is to make quality toys that are fun, safe and rewarding for consumers of all ages. That's why we maintain extensive testing procedures during the development, production, assembly and packaging of all our toys.
We are not aware of any reissues for this figure and have received minimal complaints regarding this.
Please be assured that we have shared your comments with our Transformers brand team.
If you require any further assistance please let me know."

    in other words, F Y'all

btw, when going to vehicle mode, does anyone feel like they have to force parts into place? i notices the entire roof part was at a very slight angle on my copy, meaning i have to bend it to get the doors behind he front of the car

just their normal customer help page. youd think theyd be a bit more concerned with the possibility of a kid eating a shard of broken clear plastic really. modded my jazz a little and transformed him about 10 times so far, no signs of breakages yet, so either im lucky, ive fixed it or mines going to break next transformation.
