I'm getting an Armada Side Swipe vibe from him.

Loosely, because of the gold and the white, I'm feeling Armada Wheeljack from this one.

The only vibe from this is one for G2. I'd love this in the Siege Sideswipe mold.

Once I finish my legends size bumblebee, I might make this 3d. (But that means I have to finish bumblebee  )

 

The text Optimus Prime next to a photo of a Movie inspired Bumblebee made me actually laugh, and I can't explain why.

I really like the adherence to the toy mechanics here in his legs. It's a small detail but it sells the idea that this guy can actually transform into a car and not just morph in a cacophany of parts.

I like the proportions on that Wheeljack as well. The long spindly legs make for a very unique sillhouette, and your OC has a faceplate, which are a design element that's always good to have in these trying times. I also like the bulkiness of the shoulders.

 

Thanks. The idea was to have sort of a “ninja” look while being kind of alien. That’s the idea behind the long limbs and large bits of kibble armour at least.

Thanks, I always liked the way the movie toy line transformations looked (especially the filler characters that weren’t in the movies). I always like making things that look like they transform.

The Wheeljack’s legs are pretty much formed by the entire side of the car. I like experimenting with weirder transformations so this was one of the successes it seems. I did a digital sketch of this character “Shotbrake” today and here it is.

Another Sideswipe... !!!
Usually I do my sketches on notecards but this is done on like half a sheet of copy paper so I can fit more detail. Its a Sideswipe redesign that transforms like TLK Hot Rod. This is my favorite of my sideswipe designs so you guys can just forget the other ones happened, ok? Alt mode is a Lambo Centenario of Hurrican or something like that. Also my cheep LG Rebel 4 phone has a trash camera for this kinda thing

Another sketch on half a sheet of copy paper. This isn't very much of a redesign, I just messed with some things for articulation and aesthetics. The feet transform into very uncomfortable seats. There probably should be a windshield and roof backpack but there technically is enough room if would be folded into the back of the chest.

 

I wanted to do a soundwave design but not a boom box. What has more speakers than a boom box... Hmmm... Oh yeah, a '64 Impala low rider!

The transformation is pretty straightforward. One thing I'd like to point out is the boombox control panel detail on his lower torso is a license plate and the grills on either side of it are actually part of the impala bumper.

Just another made up one. Customized '75 Camaro alt mode. Tuned up with front and rear fascia swaps (some customizers swap the front and back panels with the 1971 parts to make the car appear like a rarer car. Not only is this a robot in disguise, it is now also a car in disguise)

Maybe I should do some drawings with lines in pen. Very difficult to get these photos to come out good.

I'm wanting to try something new so comment drawing suggestions. I also am fine with trying a different style from my usual ones.

Based off a character I made up long ago. Pretty much just a blue hotshot ripoff. I did take a bit of inspiration from movie barricade design.

Edit: I just realized the alt mode as represented by my drawing doesnt appear to have any actual hood pins. What a liar. I guess we can also assume that "Muffler" from the above post doesnt even have a muffler!

Fun fact: No Autobot Camshaft has had an alt mode with a camshaft. His G1 and Alternators alt modes were both cars with rotary engines. So no camshaft!

 

I don't know enough about cars to know if Muffler had one or not. The reasoning behind the name pick is that "muffle" had the synonyms "cover up" and "cloak" come up from a quick search, which I figured would make Muffler a good car part name for one who turns into a car disguised as another car.

 

It certainly works!

A muffler is pretty much an optional part. It just makes the exhaust quieter and as a side effect slighly lowers horsepower. It's pretty much useless but the Homeowners Association seems to disagree
