Isn't this chrome? I know the picts on BBTS don't show it, but the description says "features a platinum finish on its chest and on the tank of the cement mixer" which I assume is metallic/chrome?

 

Can you clarify what's the difference between and earlier and later OS release? Did they make a design change with the later releases so that it's not as top heavy?

 

That part of the description seems to be a copy and paste of the previous release. The fact it still says 17 inches in height is further proof of that.

 

They didn't change how top-heavy it as. Rather, they improved joint strength with stronger springs, deeper ratchets, and so on.

 

Seems like a rather silly release. I have the JB KO, love the figure just don't see the market for this. It's an old mold that has had the crap KOed out of it.

 

To my knowledge, 1st batch release both Longhaul and Scrapper ratchet joints was not strong enough for combiner mode which made the combine figure floppy. 2nd batch/upgrade kit address that issue, however the combine mode is still top heavy in both batch release according to those own the figure in the OSKO thread. For my copy of the OSKO, I believe I have the 2nd batch of the 6 figures since they were stable enough in combine mode.

 

Just a guess, but they released the set with the shiny purple parts. It must have sold well, because they're releasing another set. If people weren't buying it, they'd likely stop making it.

Very surprised that anybody interested in this set doesn't have it in some form by now. I suppose you're right though. I didn't even know that they had an earlier reissue.

 

I think this set sold well, no doubt, but the KO and time must have taken a toll, seeing how they've dropped the price by half.

 

I hope it sells well (I still have my original release copy, and can't financially support double dipping) because I want them to release their Hot Spot.

 

Poor Generation Toys being one of the 3rd party companies constantly being KO'd. Wished the KO companies move on to KO figures that aren't being sold right now to avoid aftermarket prices like some of Fanstoys.

 

I'm surprised they haven't re-released this in yellow or made a G2 orange version

 

They did release a Yellow as well as Black version.

 

I already have 2 versions of Toyworld Devastator and always lusted this one, but never pulled the trigger. At this price point I finally will. This guy is going in my IDW shelf next to their Menasor which I still love.

 

If anyone is interested in the Anniversary (chrome) set let me know. I could sell it at this price. Includes upgrade kit (not sure this new one does).

That Megatron has a definite \"Man with the Golden Gun\" vibe about it. 

 

@ 17.71 \" tall does this mean it has the add on kit for additional height? I had this set once...sold off for ToyWorld but now circling back.
