Quick question. BBTS is getting a restock of Drag Strip coming soon. Were the shoulder issues with Overheat bad to the level that I should probably wait for a proper reissue or am I fine with just dropping a coin in the bucket and going for this?

You might get lucky and you might not. My good copy stays in robot mode and I don't really touch him, so I can't attest to the durability of it under more rigorous conditions. I'd have to believe this is at least the second run by now on this figure but the fact is the part that breaks is a very thin piece by design, hence my reluctance to do much with it. The one I have that broke I didn't even do anything to. I had his arm in an up pose and when I went to change it it developed a really nasty split. I then tried to tighten the screw thinking it would make the joint tigher (which in hindsight was the worse thing to do) and it just completely broke all the way.

 

Just separate deathwish's legs slightly before taking him off. Also pull straight off not at an angle.

 

Oof, yeah I guess i'll sit on it a bit more.

Though while i'm at it...

@ibot Any chance we could see the reissues for both Overheat and Flipout going up sooner or later?

 

TFSource finally got the trailer in on the same day my stimulus dropped. Like it was meant to be!

 

According to BBTS, they've got another shipment of Overheat expected this month.

 

Wish we'd got a stimulus in the UK. Could of really helped me out with a few things.

 

I can’t deny that having a nice fat cheque through the post wouldn’t be great, but overall I think the UK furlough scheme (i.e., guaranteeing a large percentage of people’s wages even while they were locked down at home and not working) was a good way of going about things, too.

 

Sure it was good, I was never off work though, I never got a lockdown I carried on as normal just with less to do all day because no other people lol

 

Yeah, me too (I’m an estimator for a building facade company, and the construction sector never shut down), but I’m grateful that my family and friends were protected!

Anyway, back to Menasor... I’m in on the youth and G2 sets only, so it’ll be a while before I get the trailer (or even Motormaster!), so I’m loving the pictures and reviews so far. I’m living the ‘completed Menasor’ dream vicariously through you all!

 

Ordered $7 worth of parts from XTB, additional sword, face and duplicates of the bottom connectors for Flipout. Sprayed the sword and face Tamiya Mica Silver with a gloss top coat and installed the connectors. I feel that all 4 connector posts for Flipout are way too long, so I plan to trim them down and sand a little so the fit isn't so tight. The first time I connected a wheel while trying to remove it the entire wheel came off the car.

 

I tell you what ...Though I am not a "fan" of Fanstoys Motor Master's alt mode,it has the best looking trailer of the 3. The other two (X-Tans and DX9) look like trashy boxes with wheels oddly slapped on.

 

The XTB one looks fine to me, just as good (if not better) than the FT one.

Additionally, when you consider that most of the FT trailer just breaks up into panels that end up as a backpack (whereas the XTB one is a fully transformable skeleton), it’s actually astounding just how clean the XTB trailer is, compared to FT’s.

 

I have my design finalized for these 3D printed leg pieces and I made an update video on my youtube channel to try to demonstrate the functionality of the pieces. I have these available for purchase on ebay currently. These pieces are meant to increase the stability of the figure when standing.

I agree with you on that. XTB's wheel placement on the trailer just makes it look like shit to me. I feel it does a disservice to how great their Motormaster looks.

However,just looking at all 3 (4 if you count Transformission) as just trailers Fanstoys IMHO looks the best as a trailer...Correction,if including Transformission's Motormaster; theirs looks the best as a trailer followed by FT,then XTB and lastly DX9.
I have all 3..not too sure if I want Transformission's Menasor..If Bo Jiden's Stimulus hit my account I most likely will.

...and holy hell is this thing HEAVY!

It makes sense if I stop to think about it. This trailer is essentially solid with an entire Menasor body crammed in there. I'm used to the usual hollow trailers. I was not prepared for the weight!

I think I am going to go over transformation videos before I attempt to combine this monster. I also want to transform the rest into vehicle mode and enjoy the visual as well.

 

I took so many pictures of them in vehicle mode before combining them all. Figured it might be my only chance if the transformation process was too frustrating  . Thankfully it wasn't and I can see myself converting them back. Have fun!
