I think they should be redone and would probably buy some. That was the beginning of Hasbro’s transition period for Marvel coming from Toy Biz and it wasn’t smooth nor the best look to say the least. Their most innovative design(double knee joint coupled with a upper leg swivel placed lower on the leg above the knees without breaking the sculpt of the thighs) didn’t even make it to the 6” Spider-Man 3 Legends, it only went to the 5” line most passed on and the 8” or 10” Unleashed(I think?) line. I’m surprised they’ve yet to incorporate that joint into Legends.
Marvelousnews.com posted some more info about the Infinity Saga Legends: The Marvel Legends Infinity Saga Line - What Might We See From It? Set 1 - IM1 - F0184 Set 2 - Unknown (likely store exclusive) Set 3 - AVN2 - Age Of Ultron Quicksilver - F0186 Set 4 - THR1 - F0187 Set 5 - AVN4 - Endgame Fat Warrior Thor - F0188 Set 6 - IM1 - F0218 - $69.99 Set 7 - THR3 - F0189 - $49.99 Set 8 - Unknown (likely store exclusive) Set 9 - IM3 (likely Amazon exclusive) Set 10 - AVN4 - Endgame Iron Man Mk.85 and Thanos - F0192 - $59.99 One interesting thing to note is that the writer of the article mentions that he believes that Sets 6 & 7 will appeal to both comic and movie fans. Given what movies those are listed to be that has me very curious. Maybe an Iron Monger from the first Iron Man finally? Can't think of anything off the top of my head for Ragnarok that hasn't been done except Surtur and Fenris. I'd take either, but if it ends up being Surtur it would have to be the version from the beginning of the film. No way they give us a Sentinel-sized Surtur for $50.
Hmmm well Iron Man mkIII could be redone as the mold is over a decade old and it would be cool to get an actual 6” scaled movie Iron Monger instead of a 6” tall one. Given the $70 price I’m guessing that’s what the set is. Until I saw the price I thought it would be a new Iron Man mkI with someone else. I guess since Adi Granov drew the Iron Man books back then and designed the movie armor, a new mkIII could serve as an MCU and “close enough” comic armor?
Woooooh, two Iron Man 1 sets and AND we getting Warrior Thor and final battle Mark 85? I’m gonna be broke if true.
Lets see, taking shots in the dark in what the sets will contain: Set 1 - Mark II and Mark I Set 3 - Quicksilver and (either Hawkeye or Scarlet Witch) Set 4 - Helmeted Thor and Heim Daal or Odin Set 5 - Fat Thor and Rocket (with the classic style design he had in Endgame) Set 6 - Ironmonger vs mark III Set 7 - One-eyed Thor and Bruce Banner Set 9 - Mark 51st and (either The Mandarin or Pepper) Set 10 - Infinity Gauntlet Tony.
Hoping fat bro Thor comes with Warrior Thor. Easy way to catch up for those who missed out on the bro Thor wave(barely saw it in 2019).
Ooh, good call on Hawkeye! A lot of people were saying how underwhelming his MCU figures are so that would be a good redo.
Most definitely...especially since the Walmart exclusive from 2012 was tough to find and he never got a figure from AOU despite stealing the show a few times. I just hope these new MCU Avengers Legends get brand new tooling and designs since the previous ones aged very quickly compared to some recent Legends. The articulation is there but not always functional and I hate that. For example, Ragnarok Thor should’ve been more poseable.
Yeah, this whole thing screams of an apology line to me. Hasbro is saying "Before we move into the next era of the MCU, here are a bunch of multipacks of figures from the Infinity Saga that we either got wrong or fans wanted". That's why the fact that IM1 is getting two packs doesn't surprise me. On those lines, again, I would really like an MCU-style Odin. I hope we get some new tooling too. Though the downside of that will either be A. Lazy repacks (like the Endgame pack just being Thanos again with a retooled Ironman) or B. Brace yourself some for lackluster waves next year.
I mean, the BAF piece that came with Ronin had the infinity gauntlet and it should still be pretty easily accessible. I don't think the second version of SHF Thanos had the IW version of the gauntlet either, did it?
The "Final Battle" version didn't, the first one did. The Ronin arm would work if it isn't a heavily weathered deco, but it also doesn't have a bicep swivel, which makes it kind of disappointing compared to the IW version.
I guess I'm just confused why anyone would even want the IW gauntlet on an Endgame battle-damaged Thanos. The only time he had that look was at the beginning of IW and his armor was clean them, so the BAF works for that. That's actually where mine is going if this rumor pans out. Not the best figure but he'll look good standing there holding Thor's head lol.
Love it! I love that it's more then just Marvel figures that happened to guest star in the cartoon. You've got Videoman, Swarm and the Arachnoid and even Beetle isn't just the Beetle figure. He's wearing the Power Booster (that he stole stole from Stark IIRC). Did you make the Arachnoid figure?
Haha. Glad you noticed the Power Booster. Yeah, I made the arachnoid. That was a fun custom to do. Made from the Dr. Who Empress of the Racnoss fig and Legends Submariner.
Man, Hasbro and Lego are BOTH going all in on the MCU love this year. My wallet is going to die. I hope that Mk 85 and Thanos set is exactly what we want it to be, with some "final snap" head and gauntlet options. And I'm really hoping that the armored Thanos is a huge improvement over the original BAF (which really didn't impress me)... much like the "1st 10 Years" 3-pack Thanos fixed a lot of the weaknesses in the Infinity War BAF.
