The great thing as I see it is that main characters like Starscream, Megatron, Bumblebee, etc. can be kept around with designs inspired by non-G1 sources. Second tier guys can sit out a few years.

But I'd totally be up for Gears, Buzzsaw, Omnibots, Deluxe Insecticons, Insecticons, Roadbuster, and Whirl.

With two Commanders a year, once we get some Decepticon Commanders, maybe Roadbuster would be a candidate for that size class since IDW made him huge and he has no cartoon scale.

Honestly you could even ditch G1 Megatron and let TM and TM2 Megatron carry the load name wise for a few years.

 

Guess it's a good time to break out Armada Prime, Megatron & Starscream then. Oh i guess Hot Shot too.

 

He kinda looks like the SDF-1 with those guns... ships... gunshipswhatever.

 

Ewww, cr@pple damage all over it. When will Hasblo learn most of us don't actually want it all over our toys, ESPECIALLY cartoon accurate(ish) figures? They wouldn't put it on MP ones, so why here?

Sigh, just another poor Galvatron from Hasblo...

Let's hope Takara or a KO company can make a "proper" version, because this poor paintjob is an easy pass.

 

Very happy with it and look forward to the alt-mode photos. Despite not being a fan of repaints I may end up getting both flavours.

That said, I was kind of hoping it would have turned about more like the image on the left (mostly a quick smudge and colour adjust). I imagine the head storage mechanism in alt-mode probably impacted the crown shape, though.




Edit: Oh, and the damage paint looks more like cell style highlights to me.

 

Purple has always photographed strangely... here it is under different lighting.

 

Except for Gears. His last version is near impossible to find.

But honestly I’m a huge fan of the mold. I’m pleased as can be he’s going to be a thicc boi. Maybe it will make me care more about Rodimus. But this is going to be replacing the Titans Return with Render form head I have on my display. That one can go hang out with Unicron. But who am I kidding I’ll likely end up getting 2.
