Here you go. I like them both for different reasons. Netflix has a more realistic alt mode and better proportions, but Kbb has a more cartoon-like alt mode and face.

 

Finally opened this, simply amazing. Great for the price point. It would be cool to get this scaled up to Alternators/Binaltech size but I don't mind this size at all.

Love having a VW Bee on my desk.

 

Guys, have anyone of you successfully remove the Autobot symbol on the foot? Or its too risky?

 

Anyone else try modding this to minimize stress on the window tabs?

WFC Walmart Netflix Bumblebee

 

A very merry Christmas this was for me (and yet I'm just talking about it now...) To put it simply, this is the best Bumblebee we will ever get. The head sculpt is outstanding as is the scale, detail, articulation and alt mode. I like how pudgy and friendly he looks but also not so overtly "kid appeal"—like he can actually be a robot at war but can also be your buddy.

There are problems with it. For one thing, I trust not the clear plastic for the wind shield. Not sure what part will break so fingers crossed it's not somewhere necessary. Also, he is so tightly packed together in alt mode that I still haven't figured out where to start that doesn't feel like I'm stressing anything when getting him back into bot mode.

The gun is also pretty bad for Bee. I think I will give him my TLK Barricade's pistol because I couldn't get to Centurion in time.

I have the Bugbite version of the headsculpt and it's way off. Hardly a passable Bumblebee noggin. The face is especially way off the mark.

 

I'm really straining to see any issue with the head sculpt. I actually have both Bugbite and Bumblebee and will say that the white alters the look in some unexpected ways compared to Bumblebee's colors.

 

Could be. Like anything else, it's subjective.

I guess I'm looking for the Netflix Bumblebee headsculpt to resemble the G1 animation which, in my opinion it really doesn't at all. Not that the figures are anywhere near on the same level, Netflix Bumblebee is clearly better, but the head on the old Classics Bumblebee does a better job of looking like G1 in my opinion.

If I could explain what I'm seeing, to me it looks almost as if Bumblebee was made to look like a stereotypical caveman. Way too much forehead that sinks too low above his eyes, small face, and it's too wide in the cheeks.

This looks like a good mold but I can’t get past how bad the head looks. If it looked more like Bumblebee I might have wanted to buy this.

 

I personally don't mind the head but a brighter blue for the eyes (or a 2nd layer) would have done wonders. I saw one copy at a Walmart recently that had a thicker coat of paint for the eyes...it was so tempting to buy but ultimately left the figure there.

I'm just glad they didn't do the grills on his face like the Netflix model.

 

I WANT to buy it but have never been able to find one in store or online yet...

My Netflix Bumblebee finally arrived and this guy is super nice in-hand! Because my version was the Takara issue, it didn't come with the Teletraan 1 piece.
My biggest gripe? His soulless expression. I know he's probably supposed to invoke the joyless version from the Netflix series, but c'mon!
I decided to shoot photos of him with his accessories pack pistol instead of his bazooka/double-bubble guns (I associate that thing more with Cliffjumper). Unfortunately, I couldn't store said gun on the roof in vehicle mode, but I did find you can sort of wedge it beneath the vehicle
From the right side up, it looks like the rifle tip is a misplaced tailpipe hanging out before the rear wheel, but what else can I do? Guess Prime's trailer will carry it!
Here are some shots with his fellow mini bots. I loved the TR Brawn and Windcharger, and I had hoped they'd produce them all in that scale. However these larger, more articulate versions are way better both in scale with the larger Autobots, especially in vehicle modes. Now I have to wonder if we'll ever see that cancelled Gears and redone Brawn and 'Charger.
He pairs really well with Cliffjumper, so I can't wait to get Huffer in the mix! However, I'm still on the fence on whether I should slap an Autobot logo on his chest to further differentiate them. Anyone try that?

Lastly, I can retire the short-lived TR Bumblebee. But hey! The beauty of having kids is that they can inherit him!

 

Are his eyes green?

 

Um...barely? It's so desaturated, it's almost difficult to even tell!

 

Just bought mine at Walmart today, And on my copy his eyes are painted silver like the face.

 

Ordered the Takara version on Amazon Japan today. I paid a little bit of premium, but at least I paid less than what Robotkingdom or eBay wanted me to pay for him, so I'm counting that as a win.

 

This is what I did with mine, after putting a nasty crack in the windshield on the first transform. I may hit it again with some finer grit stuff (I only had 180 at the time), but it's far less frightening to transform. I also sanded down the nub that keeps the neck locked in back, as that was scary to pull out the first time.

Otherwise, I'm really liking this take on 'Bee! It's what I've been waiting since childhood for!
