See, I was under the impression that the classes still referred at an individual figure, whereas this box contains two separate figures - a voyager and a deluxe - so labelling it as Leader Class really muddies the water surely? I get that it’s a price point and more to do with parts count and engineering than anything else, such as with SS86 Hot Rod or Siege Shockwave, but this just seems like misadvertising to me.

Guess they just recalled all the shelfwarming ones from Wave one and added new deco to the chest and gun eh...

 

Just about what I expected. Purple Paleotrex is cool and all but with the number of Matrices (Matrixes?) and Megatrons we've gotten in WFC it seems like a bit of a waste.

 

It's not. There's been plenty of times in the past where Hasbro sold a multi pack as a single price point. Example being Universe Tankor/Obsidian, a Mega and Basic 2 pack sold as an Ultra. Price points don't refer to a single figure and never really have.

 

There were shelfwarming Megatrons?

Hell, at my store they re-stocked 4 or 5 times, and they all sold pretty well, so I'm kinda surprised to hear that.

 

Holy Hell Megatron obtains the AllSpark and the matrix. Trouble ahead.

 

In my local Smyths he was consistently in stock and always on the shelves, way more so than Sideswipe, Hound and, particularly, Chromia who were hardly ever in stock in great numbers, or at all in Chromia’s case. I guess at some point they just cleared him away and shipped them all off to another store because eventually he wasn’t in stock and wasn’t going to be restocked, even though he was still available elsewhere.

Annoyingly the main reason I didn’t buy him was that I didn’t want to pay £40 for him and had no use for his wee Battlemasters, so by the time I decided to get him, he’d gone. Hahahaha!

 

Interesting that Hasbro refers to it as a "second weapons pack" rather than a blast effects pack.

 

Mutant masks maybe? Early copies of black arachnia had mutant masks but they didn't include it in the official release

 

So is this Megatron’s matrix chain the same as the upcoming Kingdom Galvatron’s?

 

Doesn't seem like it. It sounds like Galvatron's is a proper necklace that can hang around his neck or cannon rather than this brace

 

That's because it's most likely for a 2nd release of the figure

 

Honestly I was hoping we'd get something more unique this time, but knew in the back of my head that I'd be a little disappointed. I still want everything else in the set though, especially that paleotrex. The matrix chain is a neat suprise.

They really could have given us something more interesting than just "netflix Megatron but a little less dark and more noticeably black chest damage", though.

I actually couldn't find any text on the pictures of the box.

 

Pretty sure they didn't show off any pictures of the side of the box that has the text. Which would mean they're learning a bit.

 

The actual spoiler text has always been on the inside of the box. The outside only had the name of the second pack-in figure.

I'll wait for someone to sell the purple figure on its own on ebay... literally dont need another megatron... the first netflix megatron was good enough

 

I asked this before but no one replied, so I shall ask again. Does anyone know how different the SS86 Sweep is from Scourge? If I missed Scourge, could I use the Sweep as a stand in?
