So, on the subject of trailers, it seems that all MP sized figures are getting an extra trailer. I had a thought, and maybe it has been mentioned before, but, what is the possibility of FT releasing a new MotorMaster that is the tractor cab only to go along with the second trailer? Magic Square has done a really nice job of this in the legends class and really, it would stand to reason since the original MotorMaster was released 2 years ago and is now possibly a dated design and no longer compliant with the needs of the combiner parts. Could also be why we have never seen the second trailer for fear of outrage over already buying the first MotorMaster. This is all speculation, but logical none the less. Not looking to spill the Haterade, but just wondering what everyone else thinks about it. Would you want a new MotorMaster to go along with the 2nd trailer? Is the 2nd trailer even expected to attach to the current MotorMaster? I will be going back reading some to see if this has been discussed but wanted to share my thoughts and questions.

i would like this. But thats cause i dont have Roadking. That said, theyd make a new one and the old one would become rare anyway heh. The issue i had with XTB is simply that including the trailer cost a feckin fortune. And their quality is shit compared to FT.
As long as they offered you the chance to buy the trailer separate if you had the initial Roadking. Has to cater to new and old.

 

I agree, I have the original RoadKing and I would want to be able to use him in the combined mode. BUT, I would love for MotorMaster to be the cab only and the design be sleeker, lighter and a better chance of combiner survival.

 

I don't think there's any way they'd redo Road King, at most maybe they'd include additional pieces to replace on RK if some tabs or something were missing. It'd be a pretty big "Whoops we have no idea what we're doing" moment if they had to make a new Road King

 

Fair point, but then why a trailer? Why risk structural integrity of the combiner core so that it can transform in to a trailer? Clearly consumers were good with TW Constructor having parts forming for combined mode. I think that is the driving thought behind a new cab only Menasor. Why over complicate it for no reason?

Edit: Also worth mentioning, this is their first attempt at a combiner. Thats a good indication of not knowing what they are doing. The first is usually the worst. Ask MMC about Feral Rex.

 

Yeah, every MP scale Menasor went the trailer route. I'd prefer just pants that are super stable but DX9's trailer turned into a super stable skeleton and was all good, the XTB one is kinda over engineered and I think it's pretty weak because it has to be a trailer and a base, so FT's could go either way but I have more faith in FT pulling it off than most companies. The Magic Square legends trailer turns into a nice simple stable Menasor Skeleton too so it should totally be doable, the weight is my main worry.

 

I think this is one of those times when you can’t please everybody. Whichever option they took with the kibble, there would have been complainers in any case.

Personally, I think they should have taken a leaf out of Cang Toys book and had the kibble transform into a monkey.

 

I was thinking this exact thing. 2 trailers isn't Canon, so 1 trailer and 1 monkey makes just as much sense, really. My dream is that FT will change their design halfway through to encorperate monkey pants.

 

FT is probably trying to recycle their FT-01 Trailer  

 

But don't FansToys have some type of experience with their terminus giganticus since it was kinda like a combiner, but it really wasn't? I think they know what they're doing. I bet they haven't shown the prototypes or models for the actual combine mode since they are still working out all the kinks and are still refining it

 

I agree, but I am not worried about Magic Squares weight. The FT weight is where my concern is. All these floptibotimuses have me concerned, but being that its FansToys, I am not overly worried. A new Cab MotorMaster would be a weight solution.

Thats just business. If you land in the 80% of the 80/20 rule, then all is good. I do like it when parts form something relevant like a throne or a bust. I don't think I will be disappointed with any of what FansToys does with Menasor, and I would buy the 2nd Motormaster if they did go that route.

 

A cab only Motormaster would suit my tastes personally, but there's no way Fanstoys will redo him. They chose the built in trailer as a matter of preference, not because of engineering limitations or anything like that, and they did so knowing that would need a skeleton for combined mode. Unless their preferences somehow drastically changed, there's no reason for them to do another Motormaster.

 

I love motormaster being his own figure, he's exactly like the cartoon and he can be a standalone figure without anything missing, same for the others

 

I agree. I worry that there will be sacrifices to get the combiner parts to transform.

 

Well from the renders I would say I don’t think that they’ll be many sacrifices. There aren’t many panel lines on it like xtb. It looks more like dx9 and that menasor despite the connections of the leg bots is pretty solid. Who knows? I could be wrong. We haven’t seen any prototypes or videos of people testing it out but if people can manage the unstable mess that is the xtb menasor than I think us ft stunticon fans should be fine.

 

I can’t wait for the transforming trailer reveal! Given the genius level engineering put into the only Motormaster that transforms as he does in the show I have total faith that FT will blow us all away and will look like a total boss as a road train in vehicle mode  

 

See, this. This is how I feel. I am not gonna Debbie-Downer any of this until I am actually given a reason to lower my expectations.

I am so excited for the reveal, and you’d better believe I’m gonna have him in full tandem glory at least once.
