I'm still waiting for someone to develop a plastic ring that will clip onto the maw. I'm not brave enough to paint my figure.

yeah that is pretty much why i also painted the handles and slipped them in. i know the spoons catch the light in different ways.

as for paint i just used montana gold cans. it is a high end acrylic spray paint. so out of the can it atomizes the same as an airbrush.

That would be cool as well.

For me I'm not willing to make room on my display shelves for TWO massive Unicrons. Plus I want to be able to transform him back and forth. But more power to those who want to display in both modes.

Sorry I wasn't clear: my point at the end wasn't meant to be about how spoons (or any curved surface) catch light exactly. It was supposed to be about how plastic spoons (handle and all) take paint vs. how comparatively less finished/smooth plastic--such the kind used for toys--take paint and how that can effect the look of a color coat.

But whatever, not a big deal! :D

The big deal is the paint, but you're still being coy! What colors are we looking at here? Capri, Blast Orange, Creme Orange, Citrus, or what? I'm sure folks would find that info useful. And how are you mixing them?

I'd be curious as well what ones you were using there. With the picture of the spoons, the one to the left of the blend looks (on my monitor) to be the best. Which colors are you using?

Help out the rest of us who want to paint it too! :)

Oohh I'm gonna co-sign the folks asking what specific colors you used (Montana Gold has a LOT of orange hues), along with how you mixed colors from two rattle cans.

I feel like I'm gonna be picky about color match as well and this looks good enough to me.

I'm not sure how long they lasted or how many extra they got but Robot Kingdom has sold out at the $1500 pricepoint.

i sprayed the darker orange as a base after a white primer and then lightly dusted the lighter orange over it and it blended itself well.
