Is anyone who gets their's willing to take apart the torso to see if the stomach can be replaced? It would be a good feature for an addon kit. (not to mention have it have 6 windows/muscles instead of 8)
Others noticed that earlier testshots or whatever term you want to use had a clear stomach.

I mean, that test shot was also CLEARLY super early seeing how it's before they ran into the stumbling block of the realities of the planet shell engineering.

No, the planet shell kibble is there on his legs and back. I think it might be different because it's thinner and all stacked behind his legs.

They talk about that being the original prototype in the video.
Many things were changed from that initial model such as the abs, stand, and kibble placement.
After they made that first version (used to greenlight the entire project from being shelved at first) they went and made the resin model which is what we saw at the conventions and other places and would go on to be hand painted.

Yeah. I imagine the kibble placement changed due to structural necessities once they started moving beyond a mock-up. Impression I got though was that the resin prototypes that sold the toy were the ones they'd later painted up for SDCC.

It's still nuts that said that at one point in design he was even BIGGER.

Yep the instructions are terrible. I put them aside and worked out the transformation myself.

For those going through toy dojo, what’s the shipping time estimate? Want to know generally how quick it’ll be sent out.

from what i know the bots that were paid have already gone out. when i was there the first day they were tagging them with labels and taping on corner guards. if they didnt go out that same day they were picked up the following day for sure.

I don't have much prior experience with Fedex (at least in this kind of situation) so I don't know how this works. How can they generate labels and 5 days later still not have shipped anything? Do they actually have a shipment of Unicron boxes in-hand getting ready to send them out all at once or...what?

That's all fine and good for them to say, but I don't need to be a chemical engineer to guarantee that the rubber side spike strips will crumble into dust long before the orange plastic will, so I don't know how genuine they are being with their concerns for "longevity". Plus it doesn't address the fact that they could have just sprayed the outer ring with paint. Any of those "9 shades" of yellow would have been fine!

The rest of the stuff about "how it was never yellow to begin with" and "how the blue contrast is better" gets a big   from me.

But it looks like that's all she wrote from Hasbro. Now it's up to 3rd parties and the community to figure out how to fix it. Disappointing, but not surprising sadly.

Its a beautiful piece. One of my buddies let me witness the unboxing of his figure.

Sure backers were complaining about the sculpting of the torso but they knew Todd was going to stick with it...its an example, of how a ks should run.

Oh man, I wished it was that size.

Yeah, following the instructions made me frustrated. In the end, I just watched YouTube videos...which I dislike going to.

I'm aware it changed. It's very obvious. but it's still possible that the original intention to make the stomach clear got through into the final design despite being changed to opaque plastic.

It might be easy to check without disassembling. Are there any close-up pictures of the abdomen where you can see if it's the same piece of plastic?

FedEx didn't generate the labels, Hasbro Pulse did. If there's nothing showing up in tracking, that means FedEx has not yet picked up the boxes. I'm sure Hasbro is coordinating pickups with them, as it would likely be 1-2 trailers a day. It's gonna take at least a full week to ship out that many boxes at that size (not to mention servicing all the regular Pulse orders that come through in that period).

Edit: Did you actually get a tracking number?

Until it's scanned & picked up, there is no cost for a generated label incurred. Return Service labels are bulk printed all the time & put into shipments for major retailers, no cost until it's used.

So, basically, its free until It's Showtime!

Okay, I admit to feeling slightly triggered by that Unicron.com interview and I'm one of the rare ones that don't mind the blue maw. It was a jumble of information when considering the text overview and the video itself.

As for the "dentition" (haha, some of the Unicron.com crew are in the dental field for their profession), no one particularly took issue with those chompers. That was so out of left field. And isn't that an inside picture of movie Unicron's planet mode mouth area? Like we're supposed to care what the inside area (that doesn't exist on the toy) is supposed to look like?

F***, I just want this toy in hand and honestly I'll be able to let go of everything that has been surrounding this figure for the past 1.5+ years. The closure of getting it in my house behind lock and key is a powerful resolution to pent up anxiety of fear of missing out, shipment damage, porch pirates, etc.

For those of you who cannot accept the Haslab Unicron for whatever reason, but also reject Cell Studio Unicron initially because it doesn’t look as good as Haslab Unicron. Fear not! Because now you have a good reason to own Cell Studio Unicron. It looks really great after adding on this bigger planet ring/wing. I think it almost look on par with Haslab Unicron in term of aesthetic, and it is now 86 movie accurate than ever before!
