In the cartoon we know Hot Rod to be the first to open the Matrix.
We also know Orion Pax was physically rebuilt into his Optimus Prime form by Alpha Trion.
The strong implication here is that Rodimus is the also the first be upgraded by the Matrix. I’m cool with him being a little larger than Optimus given the power that we’re dealing with.

 

It obviously wouldn't make him equal in height, no. I'm not one of those "Rodimus is a Voyager" folks. He's definitely large. But I am also a person who has personally sized Optimus/Rodimus in Photoshop using various 5mm ports (there's a larger range of them in vehicle mode) and their respective sizes do alter greatly depending on which you use, relative to their closeness to the camera. Like I said, SEEMINGLY the depth of field wouldn't be that much, but apparently it is!

 

Has there been any indication that the rear wheels on Rodimus fold up, so his alt mode with trailer only shows 6 wheels?

People like to think in price points they understand. Prime is a Voyager, in size. So they attribute a $30 price tag to him and assume the trailer costs $20, without really taking into consideration any extra complexity Prime might have over a standard Voyager, which I'd say he does. Same with Rodimus, Warden just said he's going to be in scale with Optimus, so a Voyager sized robot, but of course with extra bells and whistles as a figure. He's got double joints on his knees and elbows, plus finger articulation, which is more than Prime had.

So I might say offhand that Prime or Rodimus is Voyager, but I really would mean that just in size.

Yes.

Because a lot of people are gonna just throw the trailer in a box with their other trailers and put Rodimus in an A pose on their shelf. Or they just don't care about the trailer for whatever reason(does it even count as a trailer? It's not a seperate unpowered vehicle towed by Rodimus, it's his boxtruck cargo area he sometimes splits from, and it's not like you ever put anything in it besides the gun since that takes up all the space, do we really just call it a trailer cause Optimus has a trailer?)

I'm personally gonna use the battle platform for my battle displays, as long as the figure doesn't turn out to be crap, and before anyone says "WfC has been good so far why would it be bad" don't count your chickens before they hatch always be aware of the possibility of worst case, but I understand why people wouldn't be too excited about most of the value of their purchase being extras they're never going to use.

 

Even if they ignore the trailer, people are forgetting Rodimus has:
Ankle tilt, bendable finger, separate index finger.
It's like people are forgetting that FoC Grimlock with it's thin tail plastic and permanent A stance leg exist  

(Though I understand the complaint about price increase, because I definitely cut my number of purchase because of it too)

 

Fully depends on the individual. Some people like the trailer and are fine with the extra cost, others will probably keep it in a box and only want the core bot.

It's sort of like MP-44 and his trailer all over again. Only this time by a far smaller price.
