Ashland WM had several of the NECA TMNT movie Splinter/Shredder sets...first time I’ve ever seen any NECA TMNT at a WM! They didn’t have anything out of the ordinary TF-wise...kingdom BA and some Netflix Wheeljacks. No retro Joes either.

Liberia walmart now has nothing (snagged a dinobot), manassas mall walmart still has nothing.

 

Roanoke Valley View Walmart: deluxe Warpath, Netflix Optimus, voyager Inferno, and a full peg of RED figures - Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave.

 

I'm honestly surprised Grimlock is on shelves as much as he is. I would have thought he'd be hard to find given his popularity.

 

I'm assuming it's due to him (seemingly) taking up both spots on the Leader case? That and last wave had a Scavenger repack and Overload, both of which people needed for Devastator, so with those cleared out (especially considering it's after Christmas), they probably doubled down and got as many cases of him as they could to fill back inventory... with this being the result.

 

I checked out the Glen Allen Target this afternoon...no NECA TMNT...haha. They do have a pretty well stocked NECA section overall, though. They had Kingdom deluxes, SS86 Hot Rod and Blurr. And, they had the SW BS wave with Dark Rey and the rest. They also had the TVC wave with Amidala. I also saw She-Ra, but none of the other MOTU figures from that wave.

 

I think another possible factor with Grimlock is it hitting the shelves 8 weeks ago in small numbers and disappearing instantly. Some collectors, like me, have gotten tired of getting burned by strange distribution patterns and sought the figure elsewhere (online or specialty store).

I believe it was Zion Crossing, or a little further west - Grimlock is piling up 6-or-more on the top shelf. He's got the potential to be a surprise shelf warmer..... maybe.

 

There were 12 at Zion Crossroads Walmart last Sunday.

 

SS Grimlock is going to be one of those figures that spikes in price a year or two from now when the other Dinobots come out. $50 figures typically warm the shelves for a while.

 

Kingdom Magnus at manassas target though I snagged it.

 

I'll be shocked if they don't announce a Gen Selects blue G2 version of that 86 Grimlock (and a green G2 version of the upcoming Slag?) at some point this year.
