As someone who never got the chance to own the originals, this is a God send.

There is always a Prime or Starscream on the shelf.

People seem confused as to why they would re release these at the same time Kingdom is on the shelves as if these are for the same audience. It's not any stranger than releasing their G1 Prime at the same time as Siege or Earthrise Prime. Anyway, as someone who completely missed out on Beast Wars originally I am pretty stoked for these but god do I hate having to play the Walmart exclusive roulette.

I enjoy Primal's mold, so I might pick him up if I see him. And if that happens, a Megs to go along with it would be nice. No interest in Cheetor (I had his 10th Anniversary mold as a kid and wasn't a gigantic fan), and Rattrap is too expensive for me to bother.

That being said, however, I don't see myself getting my hands on these. After the bungling of the Netflix series' more anticipated figures, coupled with my nearby Walmarts rarely carrying larger figures anymore, I don't see these being easily obtainable, at least for MSRP. I'd love to be proven wrong, but Soundwave and the Retro Headmasters have soured me significantly on any Walmart exclusives.

Couldn\'t use the Takara paint apps on Ratrap? Cheap Kenner paint and Rattrap was a basic not a deluxe.

I've still got all my Originals so not for me but if they got around to a TM Megatron that's not made of pasta I'd definitely be in for that. Both of mine are in bits.

Man y'all confuse me sometimes. How are these any more unnecessary than the G1 reissues? Kingdom Megatron doesn't make BW Megatron any more redundant than Earthrise Optimus Prime does G1 Optimus Prime. It's about the retro charm of the packaging, gimmicks, and design. You can argue that the new toys are 'objectively better' but the old ones, both BW and G1, have a flavor all their own.

The real problem here is the continuing Walmart exclusivity, which is just such a pain. Otherwise I'm glad to finally see some BW reissues, and that packaging is so effin nostalgic.

Excited, especially for Primal and Megs. Though the Kingdom releases are certainly better proportioned and more accurate to the show, I have no hesitation in saying that if I had to pick between those and the 96 Ultras to give to say, my little cousins for actual play the Ultras would win out 10/10.

Huh. Consider me interested if they get certain characters. I have a newfound interest in BW toys thanks to Kingdom.

Scorponok, Transmetal Rampage, Claw Jaw, Drill Bit, Manterror, Powerpinch!

While I much prefer detailed sculpts and articulation over play gimmicks as an adult, the BW toys really struck that balance of articulation and gimmicks very well, definitely much more than the later bricks that were Armada's toys (which I'd love to have good updates on because there were some good designs).

Right? They were really ahead of the curve in that regard.

The plastic looks a little suspect in the photos but I'm super digging the shade of blue on Primal's head.

Question: are the G1 reissues any more worthless?
