They have other figures already revealed to get through first.

I'm pretty sure they're either Pokemons or members of The Wiggles.

Weird to call it Winter 2021. Winter, when it comes to release schedules, usually means the beginning of the year.

My logic is they are listed as 10cm (not sure if that is correct) which is around the same size as their Soundwave which was around $60, but I'll adjust down to $50 because they won't have as many accesxories as SW.

    So 2 figures x $50 = $100 - $20 discount to get you hooked on the set = $80 + $10 for gimmicks/combiner pieces.

I'm pretty sure it's The Wiggles. They had that one one song that goes "Wake up, Paimon! We're summoning you."

I have a theory that it comes down to price, and availability.

For availability; when I 1st found out 3p was a thing, there was only the 1st few lines of Universe, Alternators, and the 1st "phase" of MP. Most of us collecting (not as "kids playing with toys" like Alternators and Energon, but actually collecting), saw that Universe was the "next level" over getting the commemorative G1 figs. Of course some of us (like myself) moved over to Alternators/MP; collectors were starting to pick their "scales" (or get all of course). 3p was there to fill in gaps essentially, and seemed to focus on the CHUD scale with a few MP exceptions. Today, between Universe/ Generations, Titans Return, PotP, and Seige most of those missing characters are available in CHUD scale, sometimes in multiple versions. On top of that, older 3p CHUDs didn't blend in with the real figs as well as current attempts, making it tougher to choose if the fig was right for a collection.

For price; I feel that's the obvious one. Going back to when this all started, I think one Feral Fex fig was close to $150.00, compared to a Titan Class fig today being in the same price range. It was one thing when the entire Universe collection from HasTak could fit on a bookshelf, but now that there are soooo many options, a collector can obtain an entire official Seige phase for the cost of one 3p fig. Going back to the beginning, I could get multiple Alternators figs for that cost as well (they were only $20 for Has, $60 for Binaltech if I wanted to "upgrade" to diecast"). Now, in regard to MP 3p, official MPs figs are starting to cost more than their 3p dobblegangers versus 3p costing sometimes triple when buying CHUD scale. The only difference is, in CHUD's case most official characters are now available, with MP multiple characters are still MIA; therefore MP 3p is still profitable (assuming).

Now, in regards to 3p Legends, both price and availability work in it's favor. Yes there are official Legends scaled figs from HasTak, but they aren't as "high quality" in regards to a collection. Yes 3p is sometimes triple the price of official Legends, but they're generally priced around a CHUD leader class fig or less. Best of both worlds.

    Oh, go on, then...

Other than the combiner name Hephaestus (the Greek god of blacksmiths, fittingly), all the others are names of demons from the 17th century book The Lesser Key of Solomon. One of its chapters, the ‘Ars Goetia’, contains a handy list of 72 demons.

Some of the 72 names therein have already been used by NewAge, such as Amy [Sunstorm], Furfur [Acid Storm] and Belial [Shrapnel]), while the list has also been mined by other 3P companies as well in the past (e.g. XTB Andras and Eligos). Demons seem to be popular names for 3P Decepticons!

Other than Hephaestus, the names appear to have been assigned at random - I don’t think there’s any link between the powers or personalities of these mythical characters and which Constructicon the names have been given to. For example, Crocell loves to teach geometry and the liberal arts. Paimon loves riding camels. Go figure!

There are many people involved, definitely. What I mean is that NA and MST operate like the author-publisher model. They only do the design (i.e. write the book).

If anyone else do the designs, it won't be NA and MST anymore.

It looks like the brands NewAge and Magic Square belong to the designers. For DX9 and UniqueToys, the brand seems to be owned by the manufacturer. MMC and XTB are on the other end, they are the manufacturers and they get designers to work for them.

I'm not sure I follow you. Are you referring to the the distinct design aesthetics of their designers, or making some other point?

So this octagram alliance.... anyone in the know? I thought originally it was a nod to the main combiner teams but then reading it again it didn't make a lot of sense. Sooo ???

Probably also a reference to the 8 color variations we'll get from this mold:
    Normal
    EX
    Diaclone
    Translucent
    Golden Lagoon
    Shattered Glass
    G2 Yellow
    G2 Orange

An Octagram is a star with 8 points.

Transformers Energon used Energon Stars as a plot point, and some of the toy versions of those had 8 points. There are a couple combiners from the Energon toyline, including Devastator Maximus.

That's the only connection between an Octagram and Transformers that I can make.

I think when you get 10 points of octagram you get a free 6" sub. The chips and small soda is extra though.

While I don't disagree, you'd think they would have made it 8 points to the free sub (being octagram and all). But nooo, they just have to make it 10 because that's the standard or whatever. Corporate nonsense!

Maybe Octogram Alliance refers to 8 Decepticon combiners?

    Devastator
    Bruticus
    Menasor
    Abominus
    Predaking
    Piranacon
    Monstructor
    Liokaiser

Hope they do a remold of Bonecrusher as Gravedigger and a remold of Hook as Hightower to get a Devastator that looks a little bit different and a 8 bot group.

Hauler thay can get to him when they release Grapple. Hope Haulers green color matches the green on the Constructicons.

Don't hope they go that deep into the rabbit hole. If they release a set every two weeks with 8 decos that would be 48 weeks if no delay would occur.
