Invest the few dollars in shock oil and get it down in the pin. It will probably loosen right up.

 

that and just work it back and forth a bit to loosen the plastic up some.

 

I like to follow with a clockwise swirl. Some people use a pinch, but I find that pretentious. (non-funny Seinfeld reference)

 

About that. I tried to took it apart. That part's not pinned, just plastic hinge. Maybe i'll try ssnding the hinge part a teeny bit. See if that works.

 

whenever i have a spot or joint that isnt pipped and i cant get silicone oil in. i just use silicone grease. you can find it at walmart or damn near any box store.

 

I got both the cartoon color version, and the toy color version.

The figure looks great to me.

 

Between this and WFC astrotrain, what you think is better ? assume price only slightly different. Size do not matter. I care more about transformation, articulation etc. And which toy you think is more fun to play ?

 

Honestly, the seige one is garbage. The shuttle mode doesn't even look finished. This figure is by far more fun and looks the part in all 3 modes. If they upsized this and added more details it would be a big success. A straight up size would look pretty bland as is though.

 

Even without owning the siege version, I daresay it's this one.

Actually, I think this is the best Astrotrain ever made. Period. Looks, altmodes, transformation, articulation. Sure, some comprimises were made due to the small size (like no actual wheels in train mode), but in every other way this outshines the siege, classics or any MP version.

 

Anyone want to sell the white head that came with the purple and white astrotrain

 

My G1 colours & OG head just arrived today from hzj. Love this guy, if the tolerances are a bit awkward in places. I saw some reviewers said they wish the train flaps tabbed into the legs in bot/shuttle mode, but my copy has some (quite tight) tabs for this. New batch maybe?

I love him just as much as everyone else, my one and only quibble is that I wish they used a darker purple.

 

Is his backpack supposed to tab in fully? The tab just sort of rests/doesn’t quite fit on my copy and any movement will open it.

 

You have to make sure the backpack is twisted dead-straight in position. Push into place hard - it's a kind of a mushy connection without any positive clicking in place, but it will stay in place if you get it right.

 

I wish MFT would upscale this guy to a voyager someday. The Seige one sucks so bad! Anyways, I love this guy and I don't see another legends version replacing it.
