I thought his gray should match his hand color, but I was wrong:

He looks pretty awesome, like, right out of the show. I kind of hope his eye is light piped so that an led can be installed.

I'm still cutting those hip vents open though.

Wow! Looks great. I wonder if his eye lights up, otherwise, why not make it yellow?

    He does look awesome.
Take a gander through the clear plastic in his chest, you think those electronics are fake or something electronicky going on with Shockwave, like the oldskool figures? Might be sound and light features.
I'm betting his eye is led lit and his gunmode has sounds and light up features.
The preorder bonus shows a led like Megs, maybe for shoving into his bot mode blaster fist.

Wow, he looks amazing. The head is also looking better in the proto vs the CAD render. Love the bulkiness of it.

Looks good so far. Might hold out for a metallic release though.

the best way that I can think of for them to handle a light up head is to use the same system as the HotToys IronMan Hands, Have the light box in the chest but include a tube through the ball joint (or whatever they use for a neck joint) to let light into the head. or a small fibre optic wire.

at this scale i cant think of any other way they could achieve it without compromising the head size or articulation

same, Magic Square figures always look much better with paint.

    Amazing !
Yes, maybe with a metallic painting it can be even better. But whatever it is a superb figurine, it will finally be my first Shockwave!

Of the two I liked the newage design better, hope they are ready to go soon as well.

Yes, the NA Shockwave is very nice aswel, with a better crotchpiece.
But I like the bulk MS look , the NA color is way too bright and I don't like the NA feet and hollow inner thighs.

I still can’t decide which one I like more, I’m gonna have to wait and see how the final products turn out

Yeah I'm totally over being bated by MS into buying the unpainted version before the one I want invariably comes out. With NA, I'm happy to pick up at least a couple of variants b/c they tease them at once, so I know what will be available and I can purchase accordingly. For such consideration of their customers alone NA has my loyalty. But MS - you've played me too many times on this front, and now I know better. I'll wait.

is there any rhyme or reason as to how MS decides which figs will get the shiny treatment? Megs and soundwave did, but not the seekers... yet.

I wonder if MS will do a yellow repaint. They've done some repaints/redecos of past figures here and there, but I don't really see much of a pattern, so I feel it's hard to predict for any given figure.

    Same feelings.
I still think the head is a bit too long, but overall the actual figure looks so much better to me, than the initial render.
Yeah. I mean it's clear that those chunky thighs aren't gonna benefit from it, but it's still a little odd how MST didn't think about cutting them in the first place.

That hip skirt is at the top of the alt mode handle, so it should be safe to modify it. Even if the handle nests into the vents on it, it should still be ok.

I'm guessing it all depends on sales? The Seekers/Coneheads weren't the most popular MS releases (I love em, though :D ) , that's probably one of the reasons (if not THE reason) they have no metallic version.

That could easily be an alternate costume for Chun-Li in SFV... XD

And I'm sure it will, to the point I'm genuinely surprised MST didn't think about cutting it anyway. That's definitely an eyesore, to me, as well as those claw-feet in the NA figure.

I like his wider hips and the extra detail of the MS. They're both gorgeous though.

Quoting an older post, which received no answer.
Don't know if everyone has noticed it, but it seems like the gunbarrel is Shockwave's backpack.
Not a problem for me at all, because the barrel won't be a loose part.
