Looks like the joints are all aligned to bend in the opposite direction of the weight being applied to keep them straight, and the “heel” appears to have angled portions to direct the forces straight down instead of backwards. The wheels seem to lock into Scapper’s shoulders to keep that whole area stable. The whole thing looks like a series of very simple, but very smart engineering tricks to prevent buckling.

Edit - I think I’m also seeing tabs at the end of the bucket arms closest to the body that peg into the chassis right in front of the cab. All the ankle movement takes place above the foot assembly, so I wonder it that solidity was actually a chief design concern. Given the relatively light weight of a bunch of Legends toys and the additional “tooth” nylon has to add friction with the ground when standing, this thing’s looking better and better.

GODDAMNIT I DON’T NEED ANOTHER DEVASTATOR.

I had the same initial reaction as you regarding the ability of that leg to hold up. But the reality is that that leg won't be supporting the full weight of the combiner in most circumstances (one-legged poses are the exception, of course). Furthermore, figures at this scale are pretty light. As long as those parts peg in and lock, we should be ok. And to be honest, the first use case that any figuremaker is going to test is that the figure stands up under its own weight. I'd be pretty shocked if they somehow screwed that up.

Not sure what you mean by "cant", ask yourself what would you prefer to be stamped on with, a work boot or a high heel........

The more I look at these figures, the more impressed I am. I find myself hopeful that they will actually be somewhat 'functional' construction vehicles in alt mode... As in, Long Haul able to carry and dump items, Hook's boom able to lift/extend, etc. Not a dealbreaker, just a fool's hope.

No joke. You know it's a hit when the Masterpiece crowd comes begging for it to be upsized.

Don't snooze on getting those pre-orders in!
These guys put four wheels of landing gear on their Seekers. I'm forever skeptical of them.

Really impressed!! I'm in for both MS and NA and wonder when third party or Takara will take note and create a masterpiece combiner similar to these. I know more engineering will need to go into larger figures but perhaps this shows the potential of what can be accomplished.

On the bright hand side, for those who don't care for exclusive items clogging up storage, we can wait till its released.

I'm thinking they have to be using sliding pins somewhere, to lock the joints

    That's what I'm waiting for.
Hopefully both NA and MS G1 Devastators will be released by the time one teases a G2 version.
Then I can see how the actual G1 versions hold up combined and everything, before I decide on a G2.

No specifics have been given yet.

MST loosely follows the G1 scale chart in that "this guy is taller than that guy, and that guy is shorter than this other guy", rather than a more precise "this guy stands as tall as that guy's shoulder, and the top of that guy's head is as tall as this other guy's chin".

The Constructicons are about the same height as the car Stunticons on the scale chart, and MST'S Breakdown and Wild Rider are roughly 9.5cm tall. I would expect them to be that tall or taller, but shorter than MST's 10.6cm tall Starscream.
