I noticed something super weird about the plastic on Kingdom Megatron. the flaps on the tail-arm got stuck and I ended up putting some stress marks into the flexible plastic. The next day: gone. They...healed. Kingdom Megatron may just be Wolverine.

Nope. That's just because it's flexible plastic (i would say very hard rubber basing on my first copy), so it slowly goes back to its original shape once deformed, and that hides the stressmarks. But they're still there, don't worry :lol

Damn, flexed the plastic up to take a look and you're right. Oh, well, at least it doesn't show.

It shouldn't break soon, but if you want to be sure i suggest you to trim or cut the excess somehow, to prevent friction in the future.
Mine is fine, his tail have the usual issues but it doesn't show stressmarks yet.
Also, i preordered a second and i'm gonna buy a third as soon as i find it. Too awesome.

Same for the repaint and the crossover, a 3x is necessary.

Yeah, he's the best Kingdom figure I've gotten so far. Honestly, almost everything in Kingdom has been an improvement quality wise over Earthrise, in my opinion.

He's not too small in general. Transform him into beast mode and he's perfectly in scale. That's why I don't want a bigger deluxe figure of him. The cartoon cheated apparently. An in scale robot mode result in a giant rat. No thanks

Assuming that Barney doesn't turn into a dwarf tyrannosaur, and considering that an adult t-rex head is 5/6 ft. long, Mickey Mousetrap's beast mode is already a giant rat.

You do know I meant show accurate Beast scale right?
    DSC_1140.JPG
    It just feels right

I like how Dinobots feet integrate with the shape of the tail (as best as they can)

Me when i wrote that: :drunk
    So, no. I did not.
    But yeah, it's show accurate.

Also, they turned into animals not to hide but to protect themselves from the high level of energon radiations, so why the hell should they care about things like scale?
And as if this is not g1, they don't even have to care about mass shifting: you're a 8ft tall robot who wants to turn into a rat but you're afraid that people might wonder why there is a 6ft long rat walking around their trash cans? And where is the problem?
There is no people around, so you don't have to hide while you search for food in the trash. Feel free to be bigger than a capybara in beast mode, no one will ever complain about that.
Except maybe for a certain dinosaur

I'm pretty sure you're thinking about possums, and even they can't be that big.
Unless... Does manhattan have a nuclear waste disposal site somewhere near the sewers? Because that could explain everything.

No, wait. There are humanoid turtles, kung-fu rats and stuff like that living in nyc sewers. I don't need an answer to that question anymore.

So don't buy a bigger one if it's made. ;)  :lol

Seriously though, I personally display my guys in bot mode as they take up less room that way, and Rattrap sticks out like a sore thumb to me at his current size.

Also, since they’re back in prehistoric* times, I figured there may have been species of huge rats, or at least rat-like rodents back then. Strictly speaking Rattrap’s alt form might not actually be a rat at all... but close enough that an unpedantic character like Rattrap wouldn’t care. “Looks like a rat, it’s a rat. I like rats. I’m a rat.” Etc.

The bugs wouldn’t be that big in that time period, (you’d have to go back even further to find levels of oxygenation that would support spiders and ants that big,) but then I don’t think you actually see any ordinary insects and arachnids that large on the show anyway. In their case I think they’re definitely scaled up although I think there is a degree of mass-shifting too.

Then you’ve got dinosaur alt modes which were long extinct then, so yeah, definitely not disguises. Heh.

Incidentally, a bit off topic, but related: (I’ll spoilerize this bit so those not interested can ignore as I might have gotten carried away in my dinobots digression):

I liked the Marvel comics version of the origin of the G1 dinobots. I.e. rather than being created by Wheeljack and Ratchet, like the show, they were Autobots who crashed with the rest. When Shockwave followed the ark to prehistoric earth, the Ark computer reanimated a groups of autobots and reformatted them based on scans of the dominant large life forms of the period** and basically sicced them on Shockwave.

While I like that origin story, it does raise a number of questions, I.e.

How well would mechanical dinosaurs serve as disguises amongst the biological ones? Not that it probably matters, since the dinosaurs are unlikely to be much of a threat to them. Did they start off with flesh sheathes like the Maximals and Predacons later? The flesh could have rotted away over the millennia dormant in the tar pit later. (They weren’t depicted that way in the comic. This is just me imagining how it could work, but as they wouldn’t look exactly like dinosaurs even covered in flesh, I doubt this is the case.)

My take on it is that Teletraan 1 (or whatever the ark computer is called in the comics, I forget) while advanced isn’t sentient and so just followed protocols for a given situation without thinking it through. Besides it was possibly damaged from the recent crash.

++Decepticon thread detected, and Autobot commanders offline.++
++Scan life forms and replicate to fit in as close as possible.++
    ++Reformat team.++
    ++Wake up and send out.++

    * For want of a better word, as that covers a massive period, and this is already millions of years after the dinosaurs.

** Actually if we’re being realistic Snarl’s form must have been based on fossil remains as I believe Stegosaurus predates the others by quite a bit.

Still too :drunk  from yesterday night to answer properly to the rest of your comment, but wasn't snarl also in the bw toyline "disguised" as a wannabe Tasmanian devil? I mean, he looked more like a rabid hasmter to me when i was a kid, and i don't remember him in any episode i've seen (not so many) but...
How is he supposed to be part of the beast wars if he's still sleeping in the Ark?

Oh, right. We're talking about Transformers. They don't care about continuity more than they care about mass shifting.

Snarl is also this Stegosaurus from G1:
    upload_2021-3-7_10-39-17.png

You are thinking of this Snarl, he only showed up in the Beast Wars II cartoon from Japan where he was called Tasmania Kid:

And you are right, he's some sort of monster pretending to be a Tasmanian Devil :lol

A thing I like about both of these toys is that their alt modes could easily be ungainly messes of floppy panels, but both lock in everywhere they need to.
