No breakages for me but totally agree on those individual leg bots knee pads. Absolute pain in the arse the way they loosen and untab just from minimal contact. When retabbing it doesn’t take much for them to come off their actual joint connection. Easy to reconnect but sadly not tight. I guess if they were the joint will likely break on them. Moving the legs into an A stance makes them untab.

The separate chest piece is quite weighty and isn’t securely fixed or tabbed on. I’m pretty sure it needs to be stuck down. I wonder if this piece was to help with balance.

I’ve highlighted below the offending parts:

 

Arms are miss transformed. The individual robot legs should be retracted as the arm mode has its own designated elbow joint which looks rotated sideways on your pic. He won't look like a gorilla then too.

@Lex79 had pulled me up on the arms being incorrectly transformed yesterday evening/early hours of this morning. Will sort it later today.

We can call this fanmode Optimus Superion.

Seriously tho, that combiner elbow joint is solid as hell.

 

The good thing of these bots not having a super complex transformation is that it isn't too difficult to keep them in their default combined configuration and extend the legs only when the extra range in the elbow is needed. It isn't as good as having an actual double jointed dedicated elbow, but is still an additional option for posing.

 

Can someone post pics of a comparison of the metallic Fireflight vs the normal one?

I absolutely love all their combiners. I have all of them, and have experienced zero issues with any of mine, outside of the crappy treads on their Brawl (I just took them off completely; problem solved!).

I will cop all their combiners from here on out!

Put up a PO for the black one. Would have preferred some purple accents in addition to, or replace the teal, since it would fit more in a SG theme, but oh well...

Now, once the Metallic arrives I will need to offload him, without even opening the thing....First time ill have to deal with selling something from the collection....

 

So is the general consensus that those who has received the Metallic version are unhappy with it?

I have the Metallic version inbound and the recent negative feedback towards it has me worried.

 

It depends what you are wanting from it.

For me the pros:

• Looks great in combined mode
• Stable
• Alt modes look good

And that's why I got it.

Cons:

• Bot modes don't match my preferred aesthetic
• Thin plastic
• Flimsy feeling during transformation and in bot modes
• Don't care for the engineering and transformation

Cons I didn't expect:

• Was missing several parts that I've had to have sent to me. Got most of them but still waiting on a foot for one of the bots
• Paint on Silver streak was really bad and had to get a replacement sent.

 

The more I think about this the more i'm agonizing over them announcing this a week too late. I gladly would've cancelled the Metallic Version for this one and got the FansToys version for the white set. Thanks, Zeta!

 

I corrected the arm limb bots so the legs are compressed. Superion no longer has the ape arms ;-). Can hold the weapon out front with no issue as per a previous post that I said I had struggled to do that with mistransformed arms.

This is the first time I’ve had a Zeta figure /combiner. I have a number of products from XTB / Dx9 / FT / Maketoys / MMC etc...

I have no issues with this version of Superion. Solid and stable in combined mode. The plastic quality varies for some of the team but overall not an issue for me. No paint concerns or blemishes with the finish. So far no breakages. The knee pads for individual bots that form up Superion’s legs are on joints that result in them connecting loose and can come off. Easy to put back on but just need to watch out when posing in gestalt mode. Cost me £280 in total. At circa £56 per bot that isn’t too bad. I bought this to be displayed in combined mode which I think most people will do and the result is great. I wouldn’t be worried. I paid £195 for X-Transbots Trailer and accessories pack. The final result of Zeta Superitron is just as good for nearly half the total price of XTB Menasor.

 

I have Kronos and ordered the metallic thinking it would be built better similar to the metallic bruticon. I prefer the more accurate decos sans the silver paint but probably wouldn’t have bought it knowing what I know now.
