I would guess late summer. They missed their rerelease initial date of downbeat by 8 months? They're contending with a global pandemic, chinese new year, and possibly a tight budget for staff/factory time/shipping, etc. We will probably never know the details about the latter.

They're also competing with takara's new seeker mold, which may be a blessing or a curse depending on it's QC.

Im debating buying the new release just to help support them, and have already pre-ordered acid storm.

Be patient, and stay positive.

The status of maketoys still seems unsure...Are they closing down or not?!?!

I really hope they’ll release the EX release soon. If not.. I might pay TT premium and get MP-52. However I still prefer the overal mold of Meteor.

 

As far as making all new molds/characters, all signs point to their MP line being done. All we've gotten since last April are repaints of existing molds.

 

When's the last time they actually released a completely brand new mold? Even the coneheads are just retools.

 

It does say the pandemic hit them hard... so the inactivity in 2020 would explain that...

 

i got my thundercracker/ lighting in a few months ago. i put those articulated hands on him with the moveable fingers. now all three have better hands. next is to get those upgraded heads. and these are all set and done. i would get the TT but i just dont to keep dumping money down the rabbit hole every time some one comes out with a new mold. heck it took me a long time to finish this line and then TT comes out with a new starscream and now thundercracker.

 

Which articulated hands are you referring to? KFC seeker hands? If so, are they fully compatible?

 

yes the kfc hands. and they are with a little mod. i think there was a posting in this thread about how to do it

 

TFSource now has the EX reissue pushed back to May 2021.

At some point I got sick of the delays and went “fuck it” and got a used Meteor for a decent price. Really good figure

Now if I can just do the same for Skycrow. He’s a lot harder to get and for a decent price, which sucks since Skywarp is my favorite Seeker

 

I am still patiently waiting... Hopefully before MP-52 releases.

 

Meteor is heavy as hell: I was using the stand/stock from MP Megatron - those two hooks can hold it.

Just thought I'd reach out here. Didn't know if there was a possibility anyone had any parts available... My Solarflare came with a cracked clip on the back of the right sided skirt... Doesn't matter if it is from this figure or one of the molds of it... Would love to make my recently repainted figure nice and solid, if possible.
