Would you believe I based that off the McDonald's toy? Granted it's swapped, but that toy had weirdly asymmetrical arms where one side was the missiles and the other was these weird flat-topped nubs, almost like they were meant to be gun barrels. I liked the idea of guns on one sides and missiles on the other.

 

I love the fact that you not only gave him his Energon colors, my personal favorite palette for the character, but went the extra mile of giving him the muted green of the show. I also really quite like the face-- it almost makes him look like a younger version of the character.

Next were a Hot Rod and Galvatron done in the style of Flametoys' Windblade. I know I posted these in that discussion but that was God knows how many months ago:





It's funny how much of this design kind of bled into my other Galvatron. I guess I have this subconscious mental image of Galvatron as this supremely chiseled and dashing fellow.

Not super exciting, but I did some sketches of Sky Lynx's separate Lynx portion. Instead of a transport container, the Lynx has its own alt mode as a tank. Threw some colours on just to make it not boring.

I drew the TFA Op the same day I did that Galvatron and Hot Rod. That style was certainly in my mind.

I haven't been drawing much TF lately because of work, but I did do something kind of robot-related:



All the "friendly" Stands of JoJo's part 8. (well, non-outright-villain Stands considering Awaking Three Leaves and Speed King but you know..)

 

Add some vibrant colours and this could straight up work as a volume cover. I didn't expect to see Soft and Wet in this thread, but I'm not unhappy since I love the Part 8 Stands. Part 8 in general doesn't get nearly enough credit for being probably the most psychedelic part of the manga, and probably one of the more psychedelic mangas out there that is still ongoing.

 

It really doesn't. I've been rereading it since a large number of the coloured chapters "recently" got translated, and I forgot how much I genuinely enjoy the story, setting, and characters. It feels rife with Araki's infinite and sincere admiration for the world, both the one he's created as well as real life.

If only the final battle wasn't moving at a snail's pace, AND we're on a hiatus.

Odd question but will you give Ironhide cannons. I don't know why but I keep being reminded of movie Ironhide when I see your Ironhide

 

He has a speedo and a bikini top formed from his alt mode jaws for beach fun.   Also those are most likely stickers rather than tattoos, applied shortly after arriving to Earth and learning of the vastness of its oceans and marine life.

He actually does have cannons, acquired recently. I'm very poor at drawing guns but I did want to draw the Autobots with their new weapons.

 

I keep coming back to this design and seeing new details. Like I only just realized he had a bikini top. Love his big punchers, love the stickers, and I love the way his helmet resembles some kind of Koi fish. I just love Octopunch in general. He's probably my favourite Pretender period. He was, comparatively speaking a fairly significant presence in the Marvel comics (particularly UK) even if he was just a lackey of Bludgeon. But his design always stood out, and his manic violent personality helped contrast a bit from the blind machismo of Stranglehold and the warrior-code of Bludgeon.

The speedo absolutely destroys me.
