Yo, what if he's like the size of that huuuge ass Cheetor that came out with Beast Machines! That would be evil.

In that scene, Rodimus actually towers over Galvatron! However, I’ll be happy if they are similar in height.

Galvatron doesn't have a trailer. If they made Rodimus an all in one Winnebago to robot then the alt mode would be hilariously out of size with all the other ground vehicles

I would too. And honestly I'd accept it as a rerelease of ER Optimus just with new legs that hide the wheels. He's so close to perfect imo and hiding the wheels is always a cool feature on an optimus figure imo

I like when the wheels get hidden into the legs. Not because I'm fanwanking to a cheap-ass cartoon, but because it's always a neat piece of engineering. And it makes sense in universe too. If you're a car that turns into a warrior robot, wouldn't you hide your soft rubbery bits in bot mode so they don't get punctured while in battle? And no, the ER Optimus' trailer is woefully too small. It should be half an inch taller and at least two or three inches longer, it shouldn't be completely hollow between the rear wheels, it needs some paint and color, and it's missing a lot of inner accessories

I actually hope they do something like that with the big double barrel cannons. Of course, if they did just that, I’d want this at a Leader price. To fill a Commander price, I hope for this+ if that makes sense. Whether that ‘+’ is a bigger battle station, with other things going on (I.e. maybe it can convert into something else as well, separately)... well I look forward to finding out. But as these figures are homaging the G1 aesthetics, I hope that big gun is a feature.

(If it’s just a fold up thing that you can attach his handheld rifle to, I will not be pleased....:p  but that would really be taking the Micky for a Commander toy. The reaction and mushroom cloud rising from this forum would be hilarious to see, though.)

Funds provided, I think I’ll likely get this guy anyway, as I don’t have a Rodimus Prime. I wanted the G1 when it first came out, but alas I was ‘too old’ then, although I’m apparently not now. :p :p :p

    Altogether now:

    WHO ATE ALL THE PIES?
    WHO ATE ALL THE PIES?

    etc.

Nah, Inferno covers that already, and manages a slimmer build (no offence). And I don’t mind certain fat robots (Trailbreaker looks great) but I don’t like Rodimus like that. The idea of a fire-engine decorated with flames is amusingly dark though.

I shouldn’t judge his final colour scheme on this blurry leak shot. Even early official Hasbro shots had Grimlock with a mustard yellow chest, and he turned out a lovely shade of gold.

I'm holding out for the Haslab Remold of this. I couldn't justify $600 for Unicron, but I'd sell a kidney for a 3' tall version of this.

I won’t be buying doubles(unless a good repaint counts towards that) but I agree. I don’t mind paying a higher price if this figure is made exceptionally well.

I didn’t like the look of the G1 toy at all but I ended up liking the toy once I got the reissue. I especially liked the trailer. So I’m looking forward to the trailer on this and hoping it justifies the price and won’t let me down.

I love Earthrise Optimus, except the gray on his legs, and his hands are grey plastic that is starting to be a lot more obvious as the paint rubs away on mine. Also his head is half blue plastic and half painted gray plastic. The Netflix one fixed a lot of that, but not all of it. It got so close! And then it had blue elbows and shoulders, and the green of the windshields was also used on the Matrix which just doesn't look quite right. Still both great figures, but I'll gladly pay more money for an even further improved version.

And while I'm not a one for slavish accuracy to the cartoon, it's kind of the whole point for the Studio Series line to reflect the films right? And in The Transformers (1986) Prime had no visible wheels in robot mode.

ER Prime's trailer is accurate to a smaller 28ft trailer but G1 Optimus is pretty commonly depicted with a more standard 48ft trailer. It even looks that way (IMHO) in the screencap you posted. Which is why I would prefer to own an a 12in trailer for my Optimus Prime rather than the Earthrise 7in trailer. I've been using the MP10V trailer with my Netflix prime but it's too wide to be accurate, though it does fit deluxe sized car bots which is nice. If Magic square ever upscales(or downscales) their Light of Justice (or Freedom) figure that would pretty much cover what I want... almost. As you can probably tell I'm pretty pedantic about my nostalgia fueled plastic addiction.

Ah yes because vehicle scale has totally been something that Hasbro cares about with trucks being the same size as military jets.

And that looks so freaking boring. Like I'd rather have an Optimus that still has truck detail rather than trying to hide as much as humanly possible because of a cheap animation model, which so far only AOE has beaten out in terms of removing truck detail.
He even kept the leg wheels right up until the final rendition cause two blue rectangles are easier to draw then that with two black circles attached.

It would be cool if they included Galvatron's ship, the Revenge, in the Commander class set versus the stupid planet accessory.

Same, and I also want relatively good scale between jets. (T30 Jetfire bothers me because of that, being so much larger than the ER Seekers.)
For me Optimus is just barely large enough. I don't need perfect scale, just good enough scale within a certain margin of error. Optimus is at the lower limit of that. Grapple and Inferno on the other hand are absolutely tiny, way too small even to look good with other undersized bots like Optimus and Cliffjumper. I'm either going to use Henkei Inferno or possibly get one of the 3P MP figures.

Biggest issue with the 'leader' characters being the size they are. I'm a weird mix on the idea of Rodimus possibly being as big as we might think (considering what's being said about Galvatron). On one hand, I want him as my Hot Rod instead of the voyager. Being that big, he wouldn't work. But going back to a good Rodimus toy, that potential height is closer to what I wanted out of Prime and Megatron, and I really like that idea for Rodimus and Galvatron. Not 'leader' class--but that old, extinct, Ultra class in terms of a size reference.

But it makes me want an Optimus and Megatron at that same size. I still currently have MP-10v as my Prime. I love him in my classics group, but I could replace him with a retail version if it was bigger than what we've gotten. Wouldn't even have to be the exact same height, just MUCH closer than the current offerings.

Kingdom Galvatron comes with 2 of them scaled to go with Haslab Unicron that combine into a gun for Galvatron according to Phamduc in the WfC series 3 thread.

    @wreckgar39 @Phamduc @Apollux

Any of you know the colors of the Selects version of Galvatron? Does he look more like the toy or the old Marvel coloring?
