Update 3/21/21 He's doooooooooone! I apologize for the lack of updates- a lot of last minute tweaks which turned into a lot of additional printing. But after all that... I'm pretty happy with the final product. I'm sure someone else could make a better one, but nobody else has yet so by default that makes this the best one lol. Files can be found here completely for free: Transformers Animated Dirt Boss Figure by BrickBotGuy Update 3/5/21- Forklift mode test! Definitely going to need to add more tabs to lock everything together on the final version. Update 3/4/21- Test assembly done! Some parts need to be tweaked and reprinted yet before I release the files (vehicle mode doesn't fit together very well) but I'm super happy with how this is turning out. Original post- Still a WiP, currently printing test pieces (some of which have been tweaked and need to be re-printed), but here's what I've got so far: And here's a render of the model:
You need to make a devastator head mode to combine with CW Devastator! that’s what I always wanted to do lol
Thanks for the kind words! Haha IDK about that, but I do want to eventually make a standalone/non-transforming Animated Devastator using a combination of 3D printed parts and junker Animated figures.
I love it, but i think you need to sculpt a break line or make the chin more prominent, otherwise it fails to stand out and makes the moustache look like a kitty mouth :3 otherwise, would buy!
Thanks all! I totally agree, I've actually already tweaked the head to add an indent along the mouth/top of the chin to separate it a bit more, and adjusted the overall size of the face. Printing updated parts right now and will post em when I get a bit more done! And don't worry, once I'm happy with the finished project I will absolutely release the files online.
New face printed and assembly + painting continues, here's a pretty good look at the robot mode. If all goes well I could have this guy done by the end of the week!

Is this going to be transformable? I'm really excited about this If I may, I think you could take some visual cues from the unproduced "Master Order" toy, namely the trapezoidal shape of the head/torso to give it a bit more "TFA" character, and make it so the legs can splay to the side as opposed to just the front for better stability. I'm still looking forward to hopefully getting hands on one, though!
Thanks! That actually means a lot coming from a modeller such as yourself. Yes, he will be transformable! Like I said though, the vehicle mode doesn't fit together well on the current prototype I have printed so I need to do some adjustments. And thank you for the feedback. I'll be honest, I have studied Master Order EXTENSIVELY and while I've taken a lot of inspiration from that design (the panels on the arms fold up almost exactly like Master Order's) I cannot figure out how certain part of him transform. I'm also facing the problem that on my design the arms compress into the torso, so I don't have much physical space to make the torso a wider more accurate shape and I have no idea how Master Order accomplished that. Maybe something to do with that weird ball jointed section in his helmet? As for the legs, I don't think sideways articulation would make mine more stable. I want mine to have front-to-back articulation that I'm working on strengthening, though. Anyway, I'm also thinking of re-engineering parts of him (particularly the backpack which doesn't fold up very nicely), so I'll definitely look into some of this. Again, thank you for the feedback! EDIT: Well, I at least got the backpack solved- rather than the entire mast/fork section sticking out the back, it now folds into the cab. Just hoping it works out in physical space...
Thank you!! If I can figure out how the transformation works on him then I might make him after Mixmaster. Oops, spoilers...
