Someone explain to me how Hasbro can license Star Wars Transformers, Marvel Transformers, and even Ghostbusters Transformers, but we can't get any G.IJoe/Transformers crossover toys.

Wouldn't this be a no-brainer that should have happened decades ago?

I'm thinking if Hasbro can make Headmasters, and Human Alliance Transformers, they should be able to make TF/GIJoe Transformers. Meaning, small Joe figures that ride in TF characters, not a tank that turns into a likeness of Duke. Nobody wants that.

I think we have all at one point or another thought the same thing and I think a lot of us made the same post over the last x amount of years. But here we are. Maybe Hasbro is saving it for a cross over movie of sorts.

Having a thought about this though, I could see the hold up here:
1- What would be the size class?
    - If you were going to do a GI Joe cross over, you would want the Joes to be represented. HA and HM are too small to really bring a Joe to life. So I would argue with a companion it should be at least voyager size, but Leader would be much better.
2- What mode are you displaying the character in?
    - If you get a night raven, are you going to display it in Bot mode? Or Night Raven Mode. Most likely Night Raven. If so, then what's the point of it actually transforming if you're going to have it in that mode.
3- Are we going to rehash the same idea of existing Transformers characters with GI Joe vehicle Alt modes?
    - Maybe this solves for some of this, but then you lose Optimus off the bat. I don't recall a Truck in G1 Joe. MASK, okay, not here. If you can't have an Optimus, can you have a line.

I honestly think they did think about it, and we got those cool SDCC GI Joe toys that had Transformers theme.

I mean they could do this, but I don't think as a line. I think they could do an expensive limited run.

Plus, there was the SDCC Jetfire Skystriker with added 'Go F*** Yourselves, Harmony Gold!' lawsuit action.

I think the crossover appeal to a mass consumer base isn't there with G.I. Joe like it is with Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future and Marvel. There are even "civilians" who might buy Ectotron or Gigawatt but it's unlikely a V.A.M.P. or Cobra Rattler that transforms into a robot would be recognizable enough to the public to make much of a dent.

Having said that, I display my Generations Selects G2 Megatron in tank mode with the Jada metal Cobra Commander figurine in my dining room, so I'd love to see a crossover toyline.

Still gunning for a classified Marissa Faireborn or Old Snake. Both seem pretty straightforward tbh. Like I also want a Marvel Legends Death's Head or Circuit Breaker, but Old Snake and Marissa seem like way more realistic asks.

EDIT: Come to think of it, is there any reason they couldn't just put out a Classified Marissa as part of Studio Series 86 or something? It's all Hasbro, who cares? I know, I know, she's not in the movie, the whole SS86 line is a nonsense reach anyway, bit late in the game to get huffy about details.

I think that custom shows why the crossover works better with no transforming characters in a GI Joe world.

Once it transforms it kills all the nostalgia you have for the original vehicle from Joes, and you have no connection to the bot.

I think it's still debatable if JOE is worth its salt at market. It's new line is just in its initial waves, and a vs Transformers line would be even more expensive, so it seems like a very bad idea.

I don't have any special desire for Joe characters (I like them a lot, I just don't need the figs), but TFs that turn into Joe vehicles would definitely be great (like Viper, noted above). That Soundwave HISS tank is pretty damn awesome.

I'm not even a GI Joe fan and if they made transforming versions of these toys (preferably with more realistic proportions for the jet cockpits) I'd use them as my canon CHUG versions of those characters. They could make them 'regular' sized (probably Deluxe for Hound, Voyager for Soundwave and Powerglide, and Leader for Jetfire) with little Titan Master-sized figures (but preferably a little better detailed) that could fit inside the cockpits. Even better if they used the jeep for Swindle instead of Hound since it looks a lot like Swindle's G1 toy.

If they do a line, I definitely want the Joe vehicles to turn into known Transformers characters like Soundwave or Starscream.

I wouldn’t want generic characters like the X-men jet they are doing right now.

I'd just be happy to find some plain old GI Joe retro line products on shelves, let alone any crossover stuff. That stuff is impossible to find...

Hasbro barely even knows how to market just regular plain ol' G.I. Joes at retail it seems, so never mind a crossover.

They should just use the current crossover concept (other IP vehicles that turn into new Transformers characters) and make a one off.
