I’ve had the opposite experience. When I used the free shipping from TFSafari, the two orders I place with them always show up closer to a month after, and sometimes hang in customs for a week or so. With ShowZ $4 shipping, 99% of my orders show up within 14 days. Yea, shipping really varies when it comes to carriers and other logistics...

 

Okay, that makes sense. I guess the free shipping most of these retailers offer REALLY take their sweet time. I paid about 7 bucks for the faster shipping on the particular figure I bought from them, but I think for the larger ones that price may be closer to 20. Either way it was the right choice, because around that time they made a statement that all of their free shipment parcels were in limbo basically due to everything jamming up with that. Not quite sure if all of their free shipping methods use the 'ol boat, but all I know is I was able to get the figure I bought from them within two weeks I believe. So thanks, because I already figured paying a little bit extra for snappier shipping was probably a smart move, but now I think it's basically a no-brainer.

 

Just to confirm, only TF-Direct and ShowZ have V2 of this figure, correct?

 

I ordered mine from ShowZ on Feb. 7th. Got shipped on Feb. 22nd. Arrived in New York today. Hopefully it clears customs quickly and I can get it on my birthday (March 9).

 

Did you pay extra for their quicker shipping or is that with their standard shipping?

 

Did anyone else run into an issue with opening the battery compartment inside the dino head? I can screw it in tight and it stop, but when I try to screw it out, it eventually just spins freely and won't come out. I noticed on Megatron's head (which I was able to open) there seemed to be a plastic or rubber clear washer. I am wondering if there might be one inside the dino head that's making it stuck?

It may just be a case that they don't have any stock of it yet. As I said, TFSafari must've just gotten this figure in since it's labeled as a New Arrival, so it doesn't seem too unlikely that other retailers like that just haven't gotten a shipment of it yet.

 

I'm getting mine today, it was pretty cheap so I'm kinda curious. It'll be my first Masterpiece figure as well.

Hope I won't be too disappointed but I'm already prepared for the worse since this is still a KO. I just really like how this one looks over the Kingdom one (the dino mode and color schemes just look really weird for me)

Same here, mine arrived from Baba about two weeks ago. Ordered early February or late January I think.

 

I got mine today. I can’t say I’m happy with the packaging but it arrived on one piece. It’s a beautiful piece but I’m afraid to transform it. Those panel pieces on his back are VERY THIN. I’m embarrassed to say I had to watch Engo’s review of it to figure out how lock his torso into place so it wouldn’t flop back.

 

Well that packaging description seems pretty standard fair for these foreign retailers; usually packed in a little box to the absolute brim likely to save on shipping. As far as the back panels though I think they could be more durable than they feel, especially since multiple people on this thread have transformed the figure with little problem (the only one I could see them having is all the connections in the Dino mode not being as secure and tight as they probably should be). Of course it could just be a case of your copy having weaker back panels, though I'm sure you could still transform it and keep those panels intact if you're careful enough. Thanks for the tip though, I'll be sure to check out some reviews of the figure if I have any problems with mine when I get it.

 

I checked out an unboxing video of one and theirs was packaged the same as mine. They both looked like someone stepped on it. I ordered a few things from China eBay sellers and tf-direct. This is the first time I got something that wasn’t in a styrofoam shell or a box inside a box. Not sure if that’s normal for ShowZ or I’ve been lucky.

I just don’t trust myself to mess with the panels too much. I had to put more force on some of the hinges than I care for. Plus, I’m not not interested in his dyno mode.

 

Man, considering I just ordered my copy from ShowZ, that does not sound too promising...

 

it’s basically a bubble wrapped box with a plastic tray inside. I don’t own a lot of MP scale figures but this is the nicest one IMHO. Most of mine are Fanstoys versions of the ‘86 movie characters.

I did notice something. The panels on his back won’t clip together at the bottom. The hinges that hold them onto the body is supposed to fold in more. Maybe I’m doing something wrong or it requires more force but I’m not going to risk it. They’re not floppy.

 

Well that's good to hear, especially since I just plan on keeping him on display anyway.

 

Some of the panels on the KO version won't ever totally tab in or align properly and I understand your apprehension of improperly attempting transformation and creating stress fractures or even a breakage. I would consult a few more reviews featuring the transformation to see if you're missing a step and loosen parts if they are screwed in too tightly. Take a photo of the area in reference maybe one the guys here can chime in to point you in the right direction.
