First off is a small parts list, I did a little more then repainting these figures by swapping out faces and weapons. Paints are all from Vallejo. KillJoy Shocked? Yeah I get that a lot. Killjoy I see her as one of those muscled woman who like her weapons large and her explosions larger. Her favorite thing to do is blow up Autobots. Her weapons are a standard blaster rifle, a grenade launcher and a large missile she likes to call Bad Day. She doesn't use Bad Day that much, she likes not having to run for her spark to escape the blast range. Her grenade launcher can also be used to launch flack, gas or fluids that release on impact or on a timer. This lets her shower her foes in oil or a flammable/explosive gas, then following it up with a rifle blast. She can also provide cover fire by shooting smoke grenades into enemy positions or covering a retreat from aerial cover by filling the air with a radar/censer blocking flack. Well, let me introduce you to my little friend. For her coloring I went with a mix of browns, grays and greens over Hardheads Green chest and a brown over his dark grey limbs. But I was mixing the brown with a metal medium which gave it a more gunmetal coloring. The green was looking a little patchy as I applied it, but once dry it had left this cameo look that I opted to go with. Dropping the metal Medium I used the drown on the forward plow of KillJoy as well as the back around her control cab. I applied a Silver around her under frame and more brown and green on select paneling to make them stick out. When Bad Day, her guns and face came in I gave her face a touch of silver and green before thinking she needs more color. This lead to her guns getting a coat of red as well as her missile getting its yellow red color rather then a cameo coloring. Lastly I took a her some extra stickers from the Cyberglow Reduction Amendment Labels. This is a set I had got but had not used all the ones that where meant for Hardhead. She also got several Decepticon emblems. Chrome Outline ones on her shoulders and Silver Backed on her cab, prow and missile. Slipstream No, I don't want to talk this out.Slipstream, We all got a good laugh when the 2007 Animated had Tara Strong tell off Tom Kenny and yeah from then on I thought "This show needs more female Decepticons telling their leaders off". So when I saw this mold I thought "That could work for a Seeker". And by that I mean any Decepticon who's form is flight capable is termed a seeker, unless its named something else like a Sweep or Armada. Like Hardhead, Blowpipe got a repaint. A nice Purple watered down with metal medium so it looks more blue then purple. He also got touches of silver, green and small touches of dark red here and there. She got the same Chrome Outline on her chest/cockpit with gold backed emblems since Slipstream seems she'd be a high rank then KillJoy. One change I am going to make to her is swapping her headmaster for someone else. At the time I have found a few printed headmasters including one that was a mini seeker body. But this seeker doesn't quite fit with the cockpit and the head/ball joint doesn't quite fit and has slowly been loosing the paint. So I'm looking at one of the extras I have in my extras box. Also I've learned more about making glow effects on figures that I'd love to have known when I made this figure. Thats the list for now. Well I can't be idol, not while I have ideas to work out. So as you can see I've got Crasher in the paint stage while Nickel and Crash Test are in planning. Faces and weapons are going to come from Shapeways but I haven't ordered them yet. I'll be doing that next week after I get paid. Bodies on the other hand I have. Wait does that make me sound like Doctor Frankenstein??? Crasher as you can see is a repaint version of Hotrod. Nickel will use Breakaway's body and Crash Test will use Blurr's. Nickel is interesting since you never saw a Decepticon Medic in the G1 cartoon. And when I look for them using google I was directed to several versions of them. Sites included a not Megatron looking guy on the TFWiki.net, a purple and white version of Ratchet on deviantart and tfumux.fandom.com, and the Paradron Medic's from Flight or Flee again on TFWiki. This gives me a few ideas for her paint job being a light Green, Purple and while with light use of silver here and there. I wish I had a decent paint program on my laptop to photoshop Minerva to give you all an idea of what I'm thinking. My apologies. Its likely off because I opted to change Nickel to Dr Cogwheel to avoid confusion and lore issues. Both are existing characters with Nickel being an IDW minicon who turns into a jet/sub. Where as Dr. Cogwheel is a character with a description of "Arachnicon stock" but no real images. This means she will work better (Till they give her an official form) for TR Chromedome's body. From Transformers WIKI Parts are currently on order with a listed ETA of April 1st. If you look at the screen capture below I've ordered faces and weapons for Crasher, Smallfoot and Dr. Cog. have a small update.

So there are not that many Strongarm parts on Shapeways. WHERE'S THE LOVE PEOPLE? Only real item you can find for her on Shapeways is the 3mm RID Blue Weapon Pack by Geable Production. I'm thinking that you could get away with a simple repaint of Prowl. Get ride of that shot gun and hand her a PM-15 WILHELM by PEACE MAKER DDMTF. If need be there are a few Prowl heads on Shapeways. I'm thinking about contacting one of the makers about maybe reworking the face for her. PM-15 WILHELM by PEACE_MAKER_DDMTF on Shapeways Also I got an idea for Dragstrip. I'm thinking of the The Stunti-Con-Job BotCon 2011 box set, which was not a combiner set(?). This took the Arcee mold and reworked her into a female version of the character. What I'm thinking of is take the CW body, give him the Crasher head by Quaternion's Creations or Phantom Racer Head "Spotlight" by Steam Shield's Bot Foundry. For her weapon I'm looking at the PM-36 URBAN FIRE by PEACE_MAKER_DDMTF or G1 blaster by Sector Zero. March 20th update. parts are in town I'm just waiting for the Post to drop them off. This tend to be some where between 9:30 and 10:00 AM. I should have Dr. Cog and Crasher painted up by next week. A small issue I'm seeing is Corona related. I can not find any 90% proof rubbing alcohol locally. I only have a third a bottle left! I had hoped to have a CW Ironhide soak over night to remove his paint before giving him a mix of Metal Medium and Bloody Red for Small Foot. This would make her a light color and close to the original GoBot figure. Note to self, I need to make some stenches for her 4WD mark.
Parts are in, primed in black, (Some Painted silver) and in the drying booth. While waiting for them to finish I thought I'd take five minutes and think. Think about how I love the Chromedome model that is. Now that I've got it sprayed down with black I'm reminded of the 2007 Transformers Animated character Lockdown. Funny thing is I wanted her to have the same Collector mind set he did. Removing parts and upgrades as trophies to use for her own projects. I can almost hear her on the battle field looking at a fallen comrade. "Oh Thats a nice energy axe projector you have. Since your about to die and wont miss it, " whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr "there we go. I know someone who will put it to good use." For enemies, well, her veiw is that Autobots are just spare parts looking for a new body.
Tuesday update. I Had to work over this weekend to pay the bills so very little got done. Yes I know we're suppose to be on lock down and stay at home. But I do need to pay the bills and I'm not a fan of taking hand outs. Also my boss was looking for employees who are willing to come in and clean and sanitize every thing. I get to do that today and tomorrow before getting two days off to rest and work on the figures. But I've not been idle. While doing that Ironhides been soaking to remove his paint job. Those yellow lines are taking for ever to remove I may just have to paint over them. I ended up just reusing the same rubbing alcohol that I had used to strip Cromedome which might be why its taking for ever on those lines. I am trying not to take more then 24 hours on that. When I could not get Black Jacks paint job to come off I left it for a few days and the black bleached to more of a grey. So I'm trying to avoid that happening again. I did do a special mix of Bloody Red paint for her. Its the normal Vallejo bloody red mix with some metal medium and air brush thinner. It will have some sparkle to the paint and I hope work in an air brush. I'm also thinking of what other colors she should get. Should her front grill be aluminum, chrome, black, steel? What color should I use for her windshield and should it also be included on her feet/rear window... Something to think of in the coming days, Or while scrubbing walls, chairs, desk and what not while listening to some AC/DC. Dr. Cogwheel had gotten her first layers down Friday. I'm not that steady a hand and really wish the blue tape I have would hold better as it keeps peeling away. I might need to get a vinyl printer to do her decals rather then use tape to lay them out and paint around them. Crasher has just been siting there getting a little work. Her giant cutting saw has been painted. I need to pick up some super glue to attach her gun inserts. Something to do on the way home, Maybe, I might walk in and forget it like I do when I go to the grocers and forget to get milk.
Six month update. I'm back into the habit again after a summer break. First I want to say thank you to Override Prime, KibblerGrrrl and Trentulas. Override started to thread Minor/Repaint: - CW Prowl into OC Strong-Arm which was his repaint of Prowl in Strongarm's color sceme. This came up on my search list this week. it was there that KibblerGrrl posted the link to Trentulas's Strongarm face plate on Shapeways. Meaning Strongarm wont be getting a retooled bluestreak/prowl head. I'll be moving ahead on that next month after the parts arrive. Here is the parts list for those who want to make their own. Crasher was also giving me issues with paint as the parts I'm trying to paint gold are not taking. May switch over to a gold pen but not before I clean/replace those parts. Small Foot is finished. She and a Hound figure have been hanging out in the living room for the last few months waiting on some proper glamor shots. I am also holding off on those till I've finished Strongarm. And bought a new camera, a phone is all right but being able to dial in the focus would help. Two other figures I wan to work on soon are Minerva and Moonracer. I have two Stunticons that I bought off eBay with some parts missing. Something I can fix with a little silicon mold and plastic. What made you mod Killjoy from the Quake/Hardhead mold? Was that just personal preference because the pretender shell concept art was large, or is there some tank reference I haven't found yet?
To start with I had an extra Hardhead to work with after buying him in a wave from BBTS. Next the only two female decepticons I knew the name for where Blackarachnia and Slipstream from the 2007 cartoon. So I started looking on the TFWiki at female Decepticons who had a tank or ballistic missile launcher alt form. But before I found any, I ended up gravitating to the name Killjoy. Also she is a bot/pretender, wearing a snake skin bikini, with a giant spear. And I was giving my version a giant missile, a cameo paint scheme and two guns instead of a bikini.
So the parts are due in from ShapeWays between Friday and Monday. The Streetwise figure is in several jars in my kitchen waiting to be drowned in alcohol. And today I received from ebay Cook County - St. Louis Cty - St. Louis City Police Decals for 1/32nd Scale Slot Car. Holding these next to Prowl these look great. I haven't got a laser printer to print my own decals so these will work great. I'm very tempted to use the little D.A.R.E. decals on Prowl as I got two of these sheets. Hope to have some pictures by this time next week as Streetwise gets his new base coats.
Work is winding down which means I have some free time. And some extra disposable income to get ride of. While I was busy the last three months I finally got to ordering the TH sticker set for Thunderhawk and Minerva. This lead to my also ordering the Shapeway parts for both of them to finish th elook. Tall shoulder boys in the house. I finished Tracker three weeks ago and ordered the parts for Minerva this week. This didn't stop me from getting started with her paint job. In addition to Minerva I started wondering what other medics could I add to my army. What is stopping me from giving Blurr some new paint and parts? They did retool his TR figure to make Arcee and Nautica. So I could make three more nurses using Blurr's figure as a base for both factions. Paradron Medic's for the Autobot's, Constructicon Medic's for the Decepticon's... The Shock Wave and the Constructicon where the Decepticon medics right? I never read the comics so I can't say. And every time I google Decepticon medics I get shots of Ratchet with Purple and white deco or a back ground drawn of someone looking like Megatron. I've got two weeks till I can order parts so I'm playing with painting Blurr in Constructicon coloring. edited 02/17/2021 WHY SHAPEWAYS, WHY? Oh look, I've gone and lost my head.ShapeWay parts finally arrived after I spent a month waiting on them. This means I had all the needed parts to makes some new characters. Minerva, three nurses and a new head/figure for Slipstream. Sound off every one. Don't you mean heads off? Easy for you three, we're just faces at the moment Initially I did like the idea of printed headmaster figures that Retro Rocket Hip had. But once I had some to play with I realized they where not going to work for me. So a Grax is now going to be serving as the... the... One sec, Sorry had to go to the Wiki. Grax is the master to Slipstreams Transtector. Its a change that I've been wanting to make to her for months but held off on for no better reason then waiting to make a bulk order. As you can see in the image above, I'm not going to use the same green paint job for all my nurse figures as you'd see with the Paradron Medic's. Rather I'm mixing it up. They are going to also be inspired by Glyph and the Red Waitress Side Burn is seen hitting on in the Fun Publications "Battle Lines" comic. White will be their base color just like Arcee and the Paradron. But I'm also going to using gold for their highlights. Also I couldn't help but give them a human skintone for their faces. partly because I don't have a decent orange like you'd see for Minerva figures. I could stun you right now. Do it and they will be picking peaces of you up for years. One more addition to the Blurr's will be these third party Gundum parts I found threw Amazon. They are just small enough to add definition to them. It will be like how seakers in some series are not the same model but all share the same basic structure.
