I fully admit I've not played the game myself, but from what I know, the gameplay is a bit more scaled back than the hairtrigger retactionary speed style you need for DMC or Bayonetta. The real meat and potatoes of the game is its narrative which has the power to bring people to tears.

Honestly, I'd say give it a shot.

Yeah, that’s the way it looks to me too. It seems like something I’d like. And it’s on sale for like $15 on PSN right now, that’s why I’m asking. Might be worth a shot for $15.

EDIT: Correction, it’s $20. Still might be worth it.

Holy shit for that price I might get it.

Plus, if you need further convincing, there are multiple endings and you have to play as multiple characters. And the developer is legitimately insane given he went to an interview looking like this:

And if there's anything I've learned about game developers in the vein of Kojima and Suda51, its that the legitimately insane people are gods when it comes to masterpiece video game experiences.

EDIT: A friend gave her input as she got the game at launch:

"I want to say it's amazing, but it is very difficult and not because it's badly programmed. The controls are tight but the game has real challenges versus artificial difficulty. So I'd say it's beautiful with an engaging story but not for the easily frustrated."

Got Crash 4, Last of Us 2, and AC Valhalla today for Xmas. I might not get to play them for a while, but at least I now have them in my collection.

So I bought CoD: MW 2019 for PS4 and of course it installed in 30 minutes but now I got this update 1.30 that will take 15 hours to finish. But the picture on the left has WARZONE on it. Is that for multiplayer? I don't really play multiplayer that often so does this update affect the campaign or is it just for WARZONE?

Great! Like I said, I rarely play online these days. I have it on my Switch buts mostly just for trading Pokémon.

I too was skeptical @ first but after 2 years now,my generic External HDD is still running like a champ and I've never had any issues. I bought mine on eBay for $45 iirc and it's a 1TB.

My brother and I have two different standard drives and both working like champs. I'm using a Western Digital 2TB and I believe he has a Seagate. Also had zero issues moving mine to the PS5.

I think Nier:A is absolutely worth a shot at $20. That said, I was also able to get through DMC and Devastation.

If you just don't like Platinum-games style action: This game is also that. A well done take with its own twists on combat, but certainly dead-center in the same genre.

If you just needed more meat in terms of story and world-building to stay engaged: Nier is head and shoulders above those other titles. To the point of rising above its genre to be worth playing for the story along.

Yeah, I ended up getting it for $20. I played it for a while, but all games ended up taking a back seat to Dragon Quest XI, which has been almost all I’ve played since Christmas. I’ll get back to Nier soon.

So uh... Once again the PS4 shows that all those people screaming "PHYSICAL! I CAN PLAY IT FOREVER!!!! PHYSICAL!!!!" are... wrong and their games can go kaput at any time.

Hrms... almost like I've been saying things like this could happen for a while.

I think those people forget that DRM exist too. Sony and MS could always flick a switch and boom your games are gone and the PS4 issue is proof of that.

Can you imagine the lawsuits that would happen if any console just stopped working altogether? There's no way that will happen. People are up in arms over nothing.
