As an aside, BBTS has always done right by me in the past. I remember my Warbotron had some broken or outdated pieces and they had no problems sending me out the additional pieces with my next order (and they even had great follow up when I went silent for a month due to other issues).
I figured Wave 2 had been delayed again, not angry or anything, just checking in. I've had Mumm-ra and Ma-mutt on pre-order from BBTS since January of 2020... I've been thinking about getting the glow-in-the-dark Mumm-ra (mummy form) as well, though that seems to actually be in stock. It's odd, I enjoyed Thundercats quite a bit as a kid, I had a friend give me the series during the brief revival a few years back and I enjoyed watching them, but I'm rather ambivalent on the toyline. Really just a sucker for how good that Super 7 Mumm-Ra looks and all the accessories.
I watched the show when it originally aired but was too young to really appreciate it. Just Lion-O and the theme song stayed in my mind. Sometime in the mid 90s Cartoon Network re-aired the show and that's when it solidified in my mind. I even taped the episodes on VHS. Every weekday after school at either 4 or 4:30.
Since Wave 4 is 4th quarter 2021 I don't expect it anytime soon. Wave 2 and 3 could ship same month for all I know, all I know is my BBTS Pre-Orders will hit all at once at the rate things have continued to progress this year for such things.
Do reviewers typically get figures before wide release (as a sign things are coming) or do they mainly get them same time as us?
Super7 definitely seems to prioritize certain reviewers and they probably fill those orders first and expedite the shipping. But they don't get pre-release samples. If you see a Super7 toy being reviewed, it's usually out (barring things like SDCC exclusives which do get reviewed in advance).
Came across this new interview with Brian Flynn about the Thundercats: Catching up with Brian Flynn from Super7 | ThunderCats.org also had to share:
Has anybody who ordered from BBTS gotten their booster packs yet? It's almost been a month and I have yet to even receive an e-mail from Super 7 let alone got the item in the mail.
Yes. I’ve ordered all of my Thundercats through BBTS. Received the booster pack, middle of last week.
Same question: did you get any sort of tracking data or hint that it was on the way? It came straight from Super 7, right? If so, we can't track it on BBTS's site.
This is the response I received from them yesterday and I ironically received my booster pack yesterday. No tracking info was sent and the package came directly from S7.
With the state of postal services right now I am highly concerned they did not think to include tracking information. Especially for any items shipped from US to Canada where I am located. I guess my only remaining question is, was it shipped in a box that hid the contents or was it just shipped as is where everybody could see what it was?
The only thing I got was an e-mail from Big Bad Toy Store that said they would be shipping them out soon, and unless I didn’t want the booster pack, there was no need to reply to the e-mail. Nothing after that though, so I didn’t know precisely when it would ship or anything, but it seemed like it showed up about a week or so after I got that e-mail. **I just checked and I received that e-mail on February 23, so I guess it was a little longer than I remembered, between the time I received the e-mail and when I received the booster pack.
