I just put mine under my phone flashlight and I lucked out. My Jazz is completely even. My 'Streaker is slightly off in places tho.

As with Sunstreaker, I had posted a fairly long explanation about the colour differences, which the main reasons for seeing them by eye or camera comes down to:

    1) the camera used, some have much better sensors than others, have a larger range and better white balance, which means that if a colour falls into the colour range that the camera has, it will be closer to what we see in person, so if the sensor has a lower range, it will "bump" the colour into the closest one it can on it's spectrum, so it will be much more apparent as this pushes the differences in colours a lot more.

    2) it's similar to the human eye that normally has a high range and one can normally see the differences in colour better than almost any camera (but the technology is getting so good that the difference is getting smaller).. BUT that said, many do have a touch of colour blindness, so it's similar to what cameras do, and many cannot see the differences but looking at the image from a camera and due to the "bump" into the limited range of colours, they tend so see it. Note that if the colour blindness is within that range, they'll see it less.

Sunstreaker is by far the biggest example of this as it's so bad that I cannot even compare it to anything else as there's no other figure that I have that has such a dramatic difference between the yellow (almost orange) plastic and the painted parts. It really sucks as it's the main character for the mold, and we have other yellow figures that are a near perfect match (Netflix BumbleBee, Select Tigertracks)

I've yet to see Jazz in person so I can't say, but in your image it's quite easy to see the difference.

If I may ask, did you use photoshop to get that express, or an app I've a little about that's said to be able to expressions?

As someone who has taken a lot of Sunstreaker photos for obvious reasons, I can say that lighting definitely can make a huge difference, both on camera and to the naked eye. They definitely botched the colors, but it's an enjoyable figure and the color thing makes for a fun running gag, so I'm willing to overlook that shortcoming. :)

Maybe. Sunstreakerverse (yes, I really am pretentious enough to call it that) characters aren't 1:1 equivalents of their G1 versions. Some differ more than others - for example, Ballad of Sunstreaker Ratchet is essentially Transformers Prime Ratchet. I haven't decided if Rodimus Prime will be a thing. What I will say about Hot Rod though, is that while he starts out even more narcissistic and self-absorbed than Sunstreaker, unlike him Hot Rod is actually capable of growth.

    I got this guy today.

    PXL_20210303_001434595~2.jpg

He was a bit taller than I imagined. (Not in the modw pictured above, obviously!)

Anyway, both modes are nice and have a lot of character. Transformation was mostly okay but it took me a while to work out the shoulder transformation. This is where a bit of text explaining you have to pull up a bit to swivel part of it round would have helped. (The image just shows that piece swiveling around, and since the arm attached does that anyway, I'd imagine some people could miss that.)

Thankfully I worked out out after some experimentation after pulling an arm off. (At the joint, I mean, not where you're meant to as part of the squid attack gimmick. It's not broken, it was an easy fix.)

In truck mode not everything wants to tab together right, (some might be my fault with alignment)
    but it looks okay.

Curiously concerning the removable limbs feature, it's not mentioned in the transformation leaflet or on the box at all. I wonder how many buyers will get this figure and remain oblivious? They're on pretty tight so it could easily occur. Not that that's a bad thing. It's like a little toy Easter egg if you like.

Last figures I'm waiting for in the SS86 line are Jazz, Scourge and Hot Rod. (All on preorder.) Due this month, I believe.

I mean of those available for pre-order of course. Still up for Galvatron and the rest of the dinobots of course.

As @Vector Oracle said, it's from SS Jetfire

You've either got something out of place inside there or a qc dud. I see some alignment issues with the back of the cab there. Everything should align and hold together very solidly in alt mode. He's actually got my favorite alt mode out of the SS86 wave 1 deluxes just because of how solid and complete it is

On a different but still Kup related note, has anyone else noticed that his elbows and knees are just on friction joints rather than pinned or screwed? Weird

No, no app or manipulation, PLA+ FDM prints. The sloppy physical brushmarks probably give it away. That said, I'd be down for an app that superimposes Kup's screaming head on any detected faces.

The Enchanted Bird-Kitty Princess herself pays a royal visit to Hot Rod at his quarantine chamber. Can she find a way to cheer him up? Click the spoiler button below to find out in:

I finally got Grimlock, which was the last figure I was waiting for! Not gonna review it, as there are already a thousand of them out there.

That Wheelie ain't ever leaving the box though. He looks good, but boy if there has ever been a pack in bonus figure that needs basic articulation, it's him.

Plating Transparent Sword & Movable Palm Upgrade KIT For SS86 MP08 Grimlock | eBay

This is an interesting kit for SS86 Grimlock. This is NOT 3d printed. Gives him posable hands and what looks like a KO copy of the MP sword with a longer handle. Dunno who makes it although @Dachande mentioned the hands looking like KBB.

I'm concerned that the existing MP sword doesn't quite fit and will scrape paint if wedged into Grimlock's stock hands. However, if the new hands push out the port a tad bit, then it may work. The preview pic, however, makes it look like it doesn't quite have the right clearance.

This particular listing has 4 copies left at time of post.

I believe it was done so you could pull the limbs off and recreate the scene in the movie where he and Hot Rod battle underwater and Kup loses some limbs by that giant robot squid thing.
