I seriously thought this photo was only comparing the mpm Prime's leg with the cgi art.

This toy is seriously accurate in bot mode. Im impressed.

This has been discussed to death so I'll make it as simple as possible:
Hasbro + popular character = money
BB Movie Prime = popular character
Hasbro + BB Movie Prime = money

 

Idk why people can’t grasp this. Optimus is the most popular transformer, BB Movie prime is a popular design. Popular Character with popular design is gonna make money.

 

It's funny, I think this is really good.
Some odd choices here and there that make it difficult to decide.

Personally, having had Siege Prime and then SG ER Prime, I'm kind of attached to the simpler Dynamic Shoulder as opposed to the Static Shoulder with Armor flap.

I need any excuse not buy stuff right now. Difficult times. But I hope it sells well. BBM Prime was exciting moment for me.

As long as it's not that noticeable from the side, it's fine by me.
Maybe a probability for a third-party led head?
But yeah, light piping for masterpiece figure? Looks like it's the first time Hasbro use this gimmick for MPM toyline.

 

Looks pretty good & accurate in 'bot mode, but seems to sacrifice the truck mode to do so. It's mostly notable in comparison to the SS Bee Movie Op, which, while hardly perfect, managed a truck mode where the back end doesn't look like rearranged robot legs.

 

I'm glad you put these comparison images together. It shows how much the MPM actually does right, and some of the things it could have done better. So far, every single 3P version has made the torso way too boxy, and slightly more G1-ified. They're mostly missing the angles and the extra bulk that surrounds the boxy elements (the chest windows mainly). I have Lemontree and I used to own Toyworld and they are both very guilty of that. The areas where the MPM fails for me are the arm panels and certain elements of the truck mode (although that's not a huge bother for me). I'm also a little worried about the articulation in some areas, but we don't really know the full extent of anything like that yet.

 

The obvious lack of backpack makes this a clear no-buy for me. Really let down, takara.

 

I don’t own any MP styled BBM Prime so except Lemon Tree one so I keep bringing him up but yeah, it seems Lemon Tree takes some artistic liberties like the headsculpt and being bit more boxy than the movie

 

Yo man thanks for recording that (I love the screen grabs coming off the page, too! lol). I think it always makes a huge difference seeing things in motion compared to just a image. And if those awesome hip ratchets and diecast feet/parts (like gas tanks & possibly chest pieces) have anything to say for this piece then it's definitely got a good build behind it. Even if the arms and cat ears are the only way to transform it looking like trash in certain shots. I'm stoked and I'll be keeping my eyes open if it's a worthy purchase. Thing is Optimus Prime's I usually always like lol.

I'm assuming someone out there enjoys light piping on Transformer heads but I really don't like it. It causes the eyes to look dead and dull most of the time because the light piping isn't done well or I don't have enough light on my shelf to make it work. Painted eyes are so much better for me. This is my only complaint on the bot mode of this figure.

Kingdom Cyclonus has light piping that works very well and it looked great when I had him on my desk with my monitor behind him. The eyes glowed very well. But then I moved him to my display shelves and the eyes are dead.

MPM-3 Bee and MPM-8 Megatron both have light piping for the eyes. It works very well on the TT version of Bee but on my copy of Megs only one eye works so he looks like he's missing an eye most of the time.

 

I wish that this was the Matrix they had decided to give MP-12. Even though this one is from the Yolopark model, it's just stylized so much better and fits the movies aesthetic better than the generic design we actually got. Besides that, isn't the Yolopark model officially licensed? So I wonder why this isn't what we got.

 

So prime could actually hold it. That’s more than likely the only reason.
