I hadn't even spotted that! It's a very strange choice to paint one base and not the other. The only thing I can think of for that is that there's a slot somewhere on Unicron that the Galvatron slug can plug into and it would look like he's stood on the surface. That'd actually be pretty cool

In the movie, when Unicron transforms, Galvatron starts off standing on a blue-gray part of Unicron's surface and ends up standing on top of Unicron's belt buckle, which is also blue-gray coloured.

Making the toolsets is by far the most expensive part of toy production. Unicron has no red or purple plastic, so they'd have to devote two huge entire toolsets to one tiny half-centimeter figurine each. We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars. That's the reason we got the Autobot Shuttle with Unicron despite never interacting with Unicron himself in the movie -- it can piggyback on Unicron's orange plastic.

 

I agree with everything except the height.



They're one centimetre tall (give or take 1mm), just like Optimus.

I was originally thinking I’d remove the rings of spikes in robot mode once I learned they came off.

But seeing these photos, it almost looks as if they’re smaller strands of the wings due to their placement.

April can’t get here soon enough (yeah I know it says late March but let’s be real: when does anything come on time these days?)

I guess if you don't care for the slugs then that's that. But if you put yourself in the shoes of someone who did care, would you be upset that the slugs are not "to scale" at 2cm instead of 1cm?

well I'm currently negotiating with my 3d Printer software on how small i can make these things. The smaller they get the more uneasy i become.. I don't think i can print smaller than 2cm without making it look stupid like the ones provided with Unicron.

 

I'm looking forward to these!
