There's definitely something cool about those zoo decos, but I prefer the originals. I can say I'm a big fan of the rhino mold and has made me hesitant to pick up a hippo.
This guy came from RK last week and I really like him! My only complaint is there’s nowhere to store his accessories (that I can find) when he’s cubed up. I have Space Anthem and Leonardo on preorder at TCP.. waiting for Great White preorders there.. The Jungle had a couple Sakuras before Xmas, but I hesitated because of a bad experience with them. Next time I guess. I've been checking Mandarake as well. I'm pretty sure Sakura is out of print, but one I'd like to get as well. If that HJL listing comes in stock, please post.
I haven’t ordered from HLJ for a while and usually when it says “backorder” you can still order it like I did. It will say “order stop” if you can’t.
Which shipping option did you use? I ordered the red dragon too and I don't even think mine has left China yet
I went the pricy give it to me now EMS route. I wasn't willing to risk the unknowns shipping methods. UPS/DHL were even more expensive. EUB/ePacket is what I should have chosen and saved some scratch, but it would've probably been the usual 30+ day wait. That's the route I go next time when things aren't limited/pricy releases. But I've lived and I've learned and feel much more comfortable with the process now. I didn't know that EUB was China ePacket at the time, I just put those pieces together yesterday. I've had a ton of stuff delivered via ePacket, but it takes a long time and tends to get beat up. EMS was crazy fast, but I'm not normally willing to pay for it. Only took 6 days to get here, BTW.
I used eub, I wasnt super familiar with any of the shipping options as this is my first time using superbuy. I hope it doesn't get too beat up but I'm not one to keep boxes to ask long as the figure is fine
The BB/MBs have plenty of slack on the inside. My two AMTS we're pretty beat up on the outside, but the figures and box chargers were fine. After that, I've decided to pay a little more to get things shipped nicer/faster. My shipment from SB was packed well, with a few layers of bubble wrap between the items and in a nice and sturdy cardboard box (much nicer than baba ships ... free). Most of their shipping options were either way too much, I didn't recognize or had too many disclaimers making me uncomfortable. I'm familiar with EMS and decided the extra cost was worth it. In the end, shipping did end up costing less than the estimate and I have some change in the bank with SB. Because I hesitated on the dragon and because of the CNY, it did take quite a while for the items to be delivered to their warehouse. I was very relieved once they were delivered and I had pictures. I did mark the items to not be opened, so all the pics were with the bubble wrap in place. EDIT - TL;DR: I would absolutely shop with SuperBuy again.

Not getting the red dragon actually made me cancel nearly all my pre-orders. Only keeping the pre-orders for the ones my daughter really wants, like the turtle and purple stego. I may get some more later on, like the black panther, mantis and big Dio, unless the colors I want are exclusives. I have enough of a headache getting HasTak exclusives and don't need that nonsense with these.
At least from what I can tell 52toys only does exclusive recolors unlike hastak where whole molds are impossible to get (looking at you cone heads) and it still doesn't seem to me like compared to their mass market releases that they have that many exclusives
Thing is, I have been able to get every HasTak exclusive so far. Every single one, mainly because the figures are available to order for a short window, and sometimes a very long window, and available from multiple places. Prices may differ, but there are at least options. With some of these being region, convention or whatever exclusives almost never offered outside of Asian specialty markets makes the hunt completely unenjoyable for me. Eh, I'll get over it. I may be done buying these but I can still enjoy the ones we have.
Got Deep One today. I have to be honest, I'm a little disappointed. Aside from Monkfish having a cracked piece on one of the main sub mode arms (contacted seller already) and Lobster's nacelle claw parts not really locking together on one side? Overall it's just underwhelming. It's kind of a tad fiddly and the sub modes don't really tab together. They're just not what I expected I guess. Haven't combined them or made box mode yet, so we'll see.
You can find almost all the exclusives on taobao and order through super buy if money isn't an option. And you must have gotten lucky with the amazon exclusives if you've gotten all the hastak ones
