Hmmmm...maybe it's a good thing I just ordered their Megatron after all.

 

I'm pretty sure they mean "lawsuit" issues lol. They received plenty of attention for their TM2 Megatron and selling it directly on their facebook makes it easy for a lawsuit. I hope they go brandless (like KO Tigatron) and just release to stores like ShowZstore to avoid attention from HasTank.

 

I wonder if Transart might face the same problems. Of all the 3rd Party MPs out there, Winged Dragon and the Transart BW figs are the ones that most look like they walked straight out of a Hasbro cartoon. Pretty much all third party G1 MPs have at least some degree of stylization to them, even if it's minor.

Edit: Although now that I think of it, I completely blanked on all the live action movie stuff that is 1:1 with the source material, so never mind. I imagine that would definitely be drawing the eye of Hasbro's legal teams before anything else.

 

Hopefully they can get a TM Megatron out before anything happens.

I am really looking forward to this figure. I check in here from time to time on it. This is not what I wanted to read about.

 

I think HasTank is looking at the bigger players, especially how much of a presence they have on the Internet. Having a Store in the public does not help their case either as Hastank can pretend to be a buyer to use all those documents against them.

 

Well they are doing another run of Winged dragon I've seen popping up at places like BBTS. JX MetalBeast 01 Winged Dragon, maybe they are just having issues with the production. It's harder for 3rd party companies to get staff and space in production warehouses right now.

 

I think the odds of Hasbro or Takara issuing a masterpiece in scale Megatron Dragon is close to zero. The price would be astronomical and given seasons 2 and 3 weren't popular in Japan the demand just wouldn't be there to justify such an expensive release so I doubt the quality of JX Winged Dragon is the issue.

It is interesting that JX could be facing a lawsuit over their figure but Transart isn't but who knows.

 

What I think is they are being as cautious as possible as to not get hit with a lawsuit. So have put it on hold until things die down with hasbro/Takara. They seemed to have halted all updates since hasbro or whoever were raiding companies back last year. I don’t think these have been however I wonder if they are too scared to continue with their plans. Of course cang toys are also part of the brand and they are continuing so who knows what’s going on

 

CangToys, DST(?), TFC, all of them make stylized bots, maybe that's why they are safe (for now) but their sister company Jiang Xing make highly accurate bots, that's why they are in trouble now... the same happened to FT, they are now trying to go unnoticed in social media ...

I hope they finish their TigerHawk, but given the current situation, I don't think they will release anything beyond that, which is quite unfortunate...

 

I hope jx can move straight on to make the black op op to match the red dragon. PE's looks good to just a bit smaller.

So he mentions "no infringement." I'm guessing that's referring to making figures without hasbro license. What's the rest about? He's going to make original transformers that are not in the master piece line scale?
