But we got rhinox and waspinator back in 2014. And they were/are fantastic.

The worst part of Polar Claw getting canned is that we cant reenact Megatron's Dilemma from Robot Chicken.

 

It's all based on dollars and cents; profit. I'm still waiting for Devcon and Botanica; and I'll be waiting long after Terrorsaur, Inferno, and Tarantulas get their toys.

And it's fine. They are just toys. I'll get them whenever Hasbro or Takara makes them. I'll enjoy the other toys that I already have until then.

*sighs desperately* If only there was a Beast Wars Retro Edition subtheme similar to those Walmart-exclusive Retro G1 Headmasters. That would be a better place for a new Polar Claw toy.

 

Yeah, but we don't know it's even being considered do we?

 

They're both quite good, but 'fantastic' is less defensible, considering:

Waspinator has knees that bend forward far better than the direction knees bend.
Waspinator's wasp mode is more mechanical in detail, and has obvious arms stuck to the sides.
Rhinox is a mix of toy details, cartoon details, and realistic animal details, like his 'loincloth flap' for one example.
Rhinox has that weird flimsy pelvis design affecting waist rotation, or even height.

Not saying Kingdom versions will necessarily be better, but there's at least room for improvement, or at least a different take that some may prefer, or were hoping to see from the '14 toys.

 

We got Rhinox and Waspinator back in 2014. And they were fantastic. And we're getting them again because they're popular, as you don't just not include popular characters in your big Beast Wars revival because you could buy them 7 years ago. That's WHY they were available 7 years ago. They're popular.

 

True. At least we know tarantulas is coming.

 

Inferno shelf-warmed for years. So did Transmetal Scavenger. And I really, really want a new Inferno. But I wouldn't be shocked if that's why he hasn't been announced.

 

It wouldn’t be so bad if the original inferno toy wasn’t cast almost entirely in clear plastic leaving his knees and elbows destined to crumble away to nothing. It was a decent toy let down by its materials.

 

I doubt Tarantulas is the only BW character we get in 2022. Just be patient and wait for Terrorsaur & Inferno, they’ll happen someday.

I would also love a Nyx, the bat Maximal from the new comic. @wreckgar39 any plans on comic characters?

 

I want to say we will get her eventually. Although then again, it isn't the first time Hasbro decided to skip out on comic-exclusive characters. Still would like figures of Anode and Lug. Aileron even.

 

I wasn't trying to start anything, I just wanted to express what I would have liked to have seen. T30 Rhinox and Waspinator were both good enough in my mind, so I'd personally rather have the complete initial cast.

Purely my opinion though. If you don't agree that's fine.

 

T30 looks a lot better (not a fan of the weird body-long mouth thing), but I'm sure this new one will have better knees if nothing else

 

I can't imagine Hasbro not doing BW Inferno and Terrorsaur in the future when they've already done characters both from G1 and even BW that had roles and toy sales that were just as small if not outright none at all in their respective shows in both the WFC trilogy and Selects so far. I mean you can only rely on only popular characters and designs for so long before it gets to the point where you're gonna have to start bringing in lesser known characters and designs in to help keep things fresh while also retaining the need to dish out popular characters. BW Inferno especially was able to live on to the end of BW so that alone should tell you of how he's deserving of a new figure and I don't think I need to explain further on how Terrorsaur is long overdue of a more show accurate update.
