He never had one in the Sunbow cartoon, Why would he here?

 

That Magnus might be the most unnecessary remold I've ever seen. All that effort for an inner robot nobody will display.

I guess if battle damage rustles your jimmies that hard I can see why you'd want this Magnus, but honestly, who cares

Because it's got a realistic vehicle mode and therefore takes inspiration from the toy

 

Whoa, is Skids designed by a new guy? That's quite a big jump in sculpt details when compared to Hound/Arcee. He's more closer in detail to the Binaltech/Alternators, and that alt mode is just fantastic!

 

There's no mention of it here. The article says that the weapons can store in the trunk, so that doesn't bode too well.

The article specifically mentions this figure is an update of the G1 toy and is being made to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Honda City Turbo, so the cartoon doesn't really have any bearing on it.

Having said that, the scooter never came with the G1 release, only with the original Disclone figure, so it is possible it will be omitted here.

The lead designer is Kōjin Ōno. He designed the original Skids and many other Diaclone and G1 figures. He's also on the team for MP Starscream and Raiden.

 

Saving it for Crosscut is my theory.

 

Skids looks great, if I was still the sort of collector who bought figures I just liked the look of this would be an instant pre-order (once its up that is). Man it makes me wistful and nostagic for noth Binaltech and the Masterpieces of old. I love all the real world/technological sculpted detailing in both modes and it looks articulated enough for me, no show accuracy or excessive articulation here that compromises the proportions or sculpt... it's a beauty!

Well I'm liking what I'm seeing with the detailing on Starscream and Skids, and that just make me want to know what's going on with Raiden even more

Still looks damn good, but I’m not really keen on the holes in the front tires. I presume they’re how they lock in and become stationary while in bot mode, but it leaves it looking like someone slashed Skids’ tires while he was on recon.

 

It\'s weird... The one G1 toy who had wheels that actually fold in sideways into his feet, and they don\'t make the MP transform like that.
There is room in the rear compartment, I wonder if they will add the scooter?

A new Figure King and still no Kingdom wave 3 pics?  

 

TakaraTomy won't reveal mainline toys before Hasbro.
Wave 1 isn't even out here in Japan yet haha.

Kingdom wave 3 figures will leak soon enough now that the Chinese New Year holiday is over.
They're shipping from the factory and according to insiders some have made their way to the black market.
I imagine TonTon or PrimevsPrime will get their hands on a few of them soon.

Early leaks might also come from the Korean board of safety again, as they have for previous waves.

 

Seriously, give us the first looks at wave 3 already, especially since no Toy Fair due to the pandemic and us getting shafted during that Hasbro livestream on Thursday

 

The more I see Skids, the more his super wide shoulders bug me. Hopefully full color deco will minimize that a bit (unless they can retract some- doesn't look like it though).

Figured he be a definite purchase (first MP in a while that would have been), especially because I absolutely hate the head on the X-Transbot version (although I have and am quite happy with their Crosscut). Curious to see where I come down. I miss being excited about upcoming MP's and I really thought I would be with this guy. Hope I will be.

 

Yup. Just like MP Magnus didn't come with his drone/droid. Wished it was included too but given how Lio also lost that Moon girl figure.......

Please make it a main release and not TTMall
