I'm not interested in the Albegas either. It looks blocky in toy form. Probably if they can make it look very close to the anime proportions and still have it 3 robots that can combine then maybe... nah. Still won't buy it.
I'll bet if they updated it, SOC style, it'd sell. It's just such a ridiculous concept, but I bet it could work in the right hands, at the right time.
It may work, if the three bots are larger, and when combined instead of six arms, go with two arms, with a set of arms converting into should cannons, and either the lower arms become hidden, or convert into a jetpack/rocket booster, or side cannons.
The Lion/Vehicle Voltron thing worked, to the extent that it did anyway, cause at least those two share similar faces, Albegas doesn't seem like he fits in with those other two at all. Daltanious seems to be a much better choice to insert into that shared universe, if they ever bother to do any kind of reboot in the future that doesn't exclusively focus on Lion.
Albegas with less arms, fists; derp, maybe Dynamite Action Albegas AKA Modern Voltron II - The Toyark - News
Ain't that the truth, easily the worst to be turned into a Voltron, like there were so many better choices but nope let's go with this non-sense QFT I still need to grab my Voltron II replacement Godmars
Seriously thanks for the heads up on this earlier. I jumped as soon as you posted it and got my pre-order in. I feel like I've been waiting forever to finally get this in my collection.
If it's anything like the last re-release, there should be some stock available around when the release date from people cancelling preorders and such, and the influx of new supply should also bring secondary market prices down too, so there will be ways to get your hands on it if you really want. Then again, scalping has been out of control lately for a bunch of different things, so who knows.
There are still other retailers that haven't opened up their PO's. Just wait and/or stalk those websites.
Even the first release was fairly easy to get. So much that I waited and by the time I saw people’s pictures and decided I should probably get one they finally sold out. I waited and pounced on the first reissue. Nice that Bandai is supplying more to appease demand.
